I have three children (5, 3, and almost 1 year)....it seemed like all three were more interested in food than milk at that age. They had all given up milk at that late afternoon time. I would try to cut that one if you feel like something needs to be cut, but if you find that he eats and drinks well at all those times with you, then it may be that he is too distracted at daycare to finish bottles and would rather play. My 1 year old (when he was your son's age) did milk in the am, breakfast (millet and banana for example), nap, snack, milk a little later with lunch (maybe around 11:00-12:00), nap, snack (those puffs or cut up fruit or yogurt), and then dinner and milk right before bed (he goes to bed at 7 or 7:30 so that may be different than your son). I also made his food (organic fruits, veggies, eggs from farm, etc)--and still do because he still has no teeth!--and froze it because it was so much cheaper than jarred organic baby food. You can cut it up or mash it to whatever consistency your son needs. If you get the Super Baby Food book (I think the author's name is Ruth Karon but can't remember for sure) it will give you ideas but it is all basically steam, cut or mash, and freeze (trays or ice cube trays and then put in bags). It also has good snack ideas. It is difficult to implement all her suggestions--at least for me, but I work and have three small children hopping around--but it will give you a good foundation to build on!
