Hi H.
I didn't have 1 spot of blood during my entire first 2 pregnancies. During my current one I had maybe 3-4 weeks of off and on spotting - never anything major - around 10-14 weeks. It started shortly before I was headed across the country for a family wedding so when I checked in with my dr, they sent me for an ultrasound. They didn't see anything unusual and my measurements matched so they said just let them know if it gets worse, but there was no explanation. It continued for a few weeks never really changing, but I also never had any discomfort with it. Then it just stopped and I haven't had it since.
At 11 weeks, you are getting close to being out of that more fragile first trimester. I understand it's tough to rest much during a third pregnancy when you must care for older kids (mine are 3 and 23 months). Times that I've been tired or needed to rest, I've put us all in the playroom with a gate and laid on the floor on pillows. You can't really sleep, but just being able to have you feet up - or at least be off them and physically fairly still can be helpful. Do they like tv/movies? I'm not a big one for planting them in front of the tv to keep them busy, but in this case, I think it's not unreasonable. Anything where you can get them interested in doing something where you can lay down and need to do minimal activities. Sounds like it'd be a good day to order pizza for dinner and let the kids have an easy lunch - cheese and crackers, pbj, fruit cup/fresh fruit...your 5 year old might even be able to help a bit. Do what you have to do to keep your kids safe and basically happy, but let everything else go! You or your husband can catch up with it later.
