Organic extra virgin coconut oil, airing it out, Calendula lotion or oil by Weleda, squirting breastmilk on it (it's anti-bacterial and helps healing) and just time.
Hope this helps some.

Hi mamas,
Any "secret tricks" anyone knows of to help things along? My daughter has a virus that's been going around (my 2yo has had it too) that's just causing diarreah. No fever, no other signs of illness. Just the "poops". As you can imagine, she's got a pretty horrible diaper rash as a result, poor little thing.
I've been giving her Florastor (as the doctor suggested) for 2 days, and I have yet to see it helping. In the meantime, any good remedies to help with the diaper rash? All the Desitin in the world isn't helping. I've started to layer it with baby powder, too. Her poor little butt is blistering and she's clearly in pain. This morning, I let her go without a diaper for awhile to at least get some air on it.
The doctor doesn't want to see her unless this goes on for more than 2 weeks. We're at almost a week now.
Any thoughts?
Thanks ladies!
I think the probiotic kicked in. She hasn't had any diarreah since yesterday morning, and had a normal poop first thing this morning. Her butt looks much better, although I did swtich to Triple Paste, just in case.

Get out your hair dryer! Clean her bottom with mild soap and water, then dry her on low or no heat for as long as she will let you. You will see the red lessen and it will dry up. The enemy of a diaper rash is dry skin, so get it dry, and keep it dry. Let her go with out a diaper if you can, or a loosly fitted cloth diaper to catch the mess, wash her, and dry her with the hair dryer right away. Once the skin is really dry, coat her bottom with a thick layer of desitin or Dr. Boudrauxs Butt paste to keep the poop off her bottom, and keep drying her out. It works wonders!

See if your doctor woud give you a script for Sulfa Silvadene... I work in long term elderly care, and as you can imagine we see some pretty bad "diaper rash"... this stuff starts clearing up even the worst cases in the 1st day or two!
Calmoseptine is great! You have to ask for it in the pharmacy at CVS or Wal-greens. Sometimes Wal-mart has it in the pharmacy but they usually have to order it.
The probiotics take time. The bug is pushing everything out of her system while the probiotics are trying to replenish and it takes time to replenish. The probiotics are fighting an uphill battle but keep giving them to her!
All desitin in not created equal. The zinc is as high as 40 % and as low as 10%. We have done a sitz bath every night after bathing. Change diapers right away even if it takes checking every 15min during waking hours and once an hour when they are asleep. By the way my sister had DFS called on her by a babysitter because of a diaper rash.
my ped also said to not use soap of any kind on diaper rashes and not to use wipes but to use a clean wet wash cloth.
Triple paste. It's expensive, but can be found at Walgreens.
Try Triple Paste instead of Desitin. When my son got his first diaper rash I asked his daycare teachers what works best they all said Triple Paste is much better than anything else. They actually said that Desitin works for preventing or mild diaper rashes but once it gets bad Desitin doesn't do anything. They sell it at baby stores and CVS.
Definitely lots of air on that bum, change the diaper frequently, but use just water, no wipes, that can sting. For the blisters, neosporin, and the a layer or butt paste. Sometimes rash creams lose their effectiveness and have to be rotated.
