I would try a glycerine suppository for the constipation (okay with her doctor first). For the rash, I'd pick up some Butt Paste and some Maalox - mix them 50/50. Hope you can get it cleared up soon.

Have you tried diluted pear juice? It helps alot as well as massage. Hope your little one feels better soon!

If you haven't already, go to the doctor. She will likely need an enema - and do as natural (sterilized water) one as possible first. She may not need medication, so don't try it first! - but go!

My first choice would be naturopathic doctor, too, but not everyone can or is willing to make that happen.

Good luck, hope your little one gets through this!

They do have pediatric suppositories but I have not used them on a child that old-only when my baby was a newborn-but ask your doc about them. My son is totally constipated with the teething so I have been giving him prunes, pears, peaches and yogurt and that has helped. Trying to avoid food that could bind him up just until he has a few good days of BM's. Its the worst to watch them struggle. Good luck-

Are you keeping a diaper off your baby as much as possible to air her tushy out?

My daughter was allergic to disposable diapers and got the worst rash I've ever seen on a baby. She was potty trained at 16 months because I kept a diaper off of her, put her in cotton training pants and sat her on the toilet. I knelt in front of her and held her, rubbed her back, made her feel safe.
She rathered that than poo burning her in her diaper.

My little one associated diapers with a burning butt, so she was very happy to be rid of them. My son never got diapers rashes because I rarely had him in diapers and got him used to the potty very early. It just seemed like a normal thing for him and he was easier to potty train than my daughter.

Start by airing your baby's butt out as much as possible. Set her on the potty.

The longer she holds it, the harder it will be on her. My pediatrician suggested glycerine suppositories for constipation.

Best wishes.

My daughter got a bad diaper rash when she was about 13 months old.. I used Balmex and Cornstarch... and i must say within 2 days the rash was practically gone. It works great. as for the constipation. Have you tried giving her prunes.. (gerber or beechnut make it) anytime my daughter was constipated i would give her an entire jar of baby prunes (the tiny ones) and she would always poop. Hope this helps.. let us know if it worked...

Talk to your doc but ours told us to use Miralax to soften stools. We also use coconut oil on the bottoms when a rash breaks out. Fixes it up FAST. Good luck!
