Hello moms. My 18 month old has a dime size lumpy puffed/ raise bump on her inner thigh, near her hip. It is not red or seems to bother her. She doesn't seem sick and is happy and active. Any thoughts? Lymph nodes??

What can I do next?

Get it checked. My niece had a lump on her shoulder and had mulitple diagnosis with no final diagnosis yet. First it was a Lymph node and told not to worry, then it got bigger and it was then diagnosed as a tumor, then it extended through to her spinal cord. Then there was going to be surgery. Then it simply went away. I'm not happy that my sister stopped looking for an answer just because it went away. Even if it is lymph node, please get it checked.

Sounds more like a cyst to me but really who can tell without an examination for a doc. Make an appt. with either your pedie or a dermatologist.

Has she been sick recently? Colds, flu, etc. can cause lymph nodes to swell because they are a part of the immune system. If she's been sick recently, I'd wait to see if it goes down.

I'd call the advice nurse and ask her opinion.
