My beautiful daughter is going to be 18 in October and we are trying to come up with something fun yet cost efficient for her party. We did the Sweet 16 dinner, limo, hotel party and now we want something for her 18th. Any suggestions or ideas are greatly appreciated. Thanks.

What can I do next?

Jebus, I got pizza and a movie when I hit 16. I don't think I have anything to suggest that would top what you've already done.

There must be restaurants with private rooms in your town. Or a Restaurant that your daughter and her friends would think was cool. Here in Austin for example.. Sandra Bullock owns a wonderful restaurant that the food is delicious in a beautiful building, I once had them make up a special menu for a group of friends and they did a wonderful job.

How about inviting a certain number of people of her choice and have a wonderful dinner.. Let them mingle talk and laugh..

Maybe hire 2 young (high school age) up and coming photographers to be there like Paparazzi to take all of their photos..Let them know you just want all of the photos on a Disc.. then you can decide if you want to load them on a website like snapfish.com for [people to be able to order them through a place like Walgreens..

Just let them all visit talk and eat.. That is the most fun thing to do with their friends.
Then they will have the photos at the end..

Oh boy, I am interested in hearing about this one.

We are in the midst of planning the Sweet 16 party at the country club with DJ entertainment, food and dancing.

Does she want something "big"? If not, how about a treat at a local hotel that is fun such as Gaylord or something like that, and include Spa services.

Grapevine Lake at one of the marinas, has a party boat with slide that you can rent. It is a fun coed party...you can grill, kids can swim. My friend did it for her daughter's 16th. But October might be iffy on weather and coolness of water.

For my 18th birthday I and 4 friends ditched school and went on the Price is Right- most memorable and funnest birthday ever.

Granted I lived in Southern California at the time- but considering what you must have spent on the sweet 16, flying your daughter and a friend out to Los Angeles on Southwest and staying a night in a Courtyard Hotel should look pretty inexpensive. This is all assuming that your daughter has watched the Price is Right.

Instead, maybe take a family trip in her honor or a spa weekend with mom at a resort?

What about having a nice dinner for her, your family, and a few of her close friends. Then a spa day or a concert tickets if there is someone she wants to see...her and you or her and her best friend.

I bought my baby a cool hotel room for a night in Fredericksburg. Sghe took her friends and had a great "road trip." I also thought about Austin - but ruled it our for fear she would have TOO much fun! Being in October, you could do a haunted house party - buy her and 5 of her friends way or something. Or combine the 2 - buy her a hotel room and haunted house tickets in a differant city!
I also like spa day with mom idea
