Hello-
I am having a Hello Kitty themed first birthday party for my daughter. I know most people just have a smaller party but have decided therwise. Does anyone have any suggestions on how to incorporate the theme into centerpieces, favors, etc...? I have made the invitations myself and is not too babyish. I am pretty crafty and wanted to get some suggestions..
Thanks in advance.

Hi I am having my two daugthers party hello kitty theme. I make center piece hello kitty in color pink and yellow, pinata hello kitty...items for patty I buy in Kmart all stuff for the party...IN Sams club make beatiful cake hello kitty theme...enjoy the party.
Are your guests mostly adult or children?
-You could use pink/red bows for party hats
-Laminated take-home placemats with a little personalization are easy to make and inexpensive or include a pink ribbon on any white bag
-Play put the bow on Kitty game (like pin the tail on the donkey). Lots of young players? Put it on the floor
-you can face paint whiskers
Go to Party City. I think they had a bunch of Hello Kitty themed items.
If you're close to the city or can get into downtown, there is a Sanrio (Hello Kitty) store at the Nordstrom Mall on Michigan Avenue. It's on the second level. I think it's called the Northbridge mall.
instead of party hats, I would make or buy headbands with kitty ears, and draw whiskers on their little faces so they could all be Hello Kitties. The cake should be easy, a circle with 2 triangls for the ears. Check the dollar stores, you can often find inexpensive treats and gifts for prizes and hand outs.
My older girls had Hello Kitty for their 4th. We did a Put on the Bow type game like pin the tail on th edonkey. For Favors, you could put in bows, pencils and such. Pink is th color to go with so you don't necessrily have to have the exact items. I bought some Hello Kitty figures on the internet and put those on the cake. The cake otherwise had pink and purple flowers and letters.
