I wanted to give you a success story.
I had an early miscarriage/chemical pregnancy at about 4 weeks last summer. We weren't trying at the time, but it was still a sad loss. In January, we started trying again. In April, I discovered I was pregnant and my doctor saw me at 4.5 weeks. She did blood work. My hcg was 91 and my progesterone was 13.3. She did blood work 48 hours later to check to see if the levels had risen. HCG should double or triple in 48 hours and progesterone should steadily increase in each trimester. My hcg was 313 and my progesterone was 9.4. My progesterone had dropped. She immediately put me on prometrium supplements- 200mg twice daily. We went at 6.5 weeks for an early sonogram. We saw the yolk sac and strong beating heart. Since then the baby has had a strong heartbeat and is growing right on schedule. We had a sonogram at 13 weeks and saw her fingers, toes, heartbeat, head, brain, etc. I am 18 weeks now and doing well. I am actually starting to feel the little movements in there. We go to the dr. in 2 weeks for our 20 week ultrasound and we will find out what we're having.
Also, I have another friend who also had an early miscarriage and is now pregnant again. She too, took prometrium supplements from the beginning and is now 22 weeks and having a little girl.
Maybe suggest to your dr. that you start taking prometrium earlier next time. I took a lot of comfort in my dr. seeing me so early and being so proactive with this pregnancy.
Best of luck to you!
