2 Questions: Remembering Milestones & Fetal Movements

I have a super sensitive memory. I can remember things that people think can't believe. It's really incredible. (Sometimes, unfortunate.)

I felt my son at 14 1/2 weeks. I remember going to the bathroom and him doing a flip. My doctor told me that's pretty early (especially, for a first pregnancy.) However, she did say the thinner you are, the earlier you can feel. in her opinion, at least. It seems like the average seems to be 18-24 weeks for most people.

Well I'm grandma. I buy these books that take each month of every year and I write what's going on that month with 2 pictures. It truly is special for me and my grandchildren ( also my daughter... she doesn't have to do it) It's in my handwriting and someday they'll be a good memory of me.

I kept a journal for each pregnancy and to this day, I still keep a journal. That is how I recall specifics. As for fetal movement, 12 weeks is too early. The baby is too small. I think I recall feeling movement around 15-16 weeks. Of course to be absolutely certain, I'd have to locate my journal. : )))

Some things stick and others you think you remember until you are asked! I know for a fact that the first movements i felt were at 16 weeks. At the time i was told by my ob that it was common between 16 and 20 weeks. Congrats!

I have to write things down to remember. I kept a little calendar and jotted down when my DS did things for the first 6 months or so, than I slacked off a bit. As far as fetal movement, I remember it was right before 20 weeks. I only remember because I was worried that I should have felt something sooner, but once he started kicking around there was no stopping him! Congrats!

I'm just like you about remembering things....and with 4 kids it's impossible. That being said....I cannot remember when I felt them kick either ;)

I can only remember milestones if I have a touchpoint. For instance, my son was walking at 10 months. I only know that because he was born in January and walked on his 1st Halloween.

My last baby , I felt her move for the 1st time on Thanksgiving night - I thought it was gas - and she was born in March. So, that would mean, I felt her move at 6 months.

Hmmmm, all my milestones revolve around food!!! :)

I recall feeling my son, which is my 2nd move at about 3 months along. I only recall that because that year my daughter was turning 3 and the two numbers stick together for me for that year. I don't recall with my first at all.

There are some people like me who have this incredible ability to remember
everything!!!! I remember what my kids were wearing for some activities,
what they did when, etc. etc. I also can remember dates of EVERYTHING
and phone numbers!!! Who knows why, I cannot answer. It just comes
to me naturally. I also have everything written down in baby books.

For me it's easy since I only have one child. I also keep everything in her baby book so that she can read it when she grows up.

I was just under 3 months along when I felt her moving, like a butterfly fluttering.

oops - I filled out his baby book in the hospital. Thought it was a little optimistic, but I figured he'd get his first tooth and be reading a few months later. That's what our book says, anyway.

Oh, and he ran his first marathon at 4 - so I guess we should get training! Only 2 1/2 years to go. :)

It doesn't work like that???
