Does anyone else have a child that takes everything off when you put them to sleep? I have tried every type of pajamas and I still go in to a naked child and soiled sheets. I am out of ideas can anyone help?

What can I do next?

I used onesie-style pjs....whether they snapped/zipped....& put it on my sons backwards. It worked!

Most kids go thru this...whether they're ready for potty training or not.

My foster son was great at getting all his pj's off no matter which way I put them on. I started wrapping duct tape around his waist after he was wearing his footed sleeper. It was his "super hero " belt. He thought it was cool, and it prevented access to his diaper from the top and bottom.

My guy took his diaper off during the day, so I duct taped it, starting at the back, wrapping it all around the front and ending in the back. Overalls on backwards during the day, with a onesie on backwards, he was determined!! Some nights he took his pj's off so the next night the sleeper went on backwards over a duct taped diaper.

Since she's soiling you might want to start potty training, perhaps she recognizes the feeling of needing to go and doesn't want it on her. Have her sit after dinner and her bath, as part of her bedtime routine. We started training then, he was ready.

Have you tried putting the one piece zip up pjs on backwards? My 16 mos old granddaughter was undressing and her parents did this a couple of nights and she's stopped doing it. Same with taking off her diaper during the day. Every time she did it someone immediately put it back on. After a 2-3 weeks she stopped doing it for the most part.

It was like she learned a new trick and when she didn't like the results she stopped.

Yep! I tried potty training thinking that this was a sign she was ready...so did not go well. I ended up duct taping her diaper on (so it doesn't touch skin) then put on either footie jammies backwards (with feet cut off)..or put on a onsie and tape the snaps, then put pants on over it...and add more tape if needed lol. It took about a month but she finally stopped trying (for me it was during the day too, yuck!). Good luck!

This question made me laugh, last night I checked on my daughter around midnight and found her sleeping totally naked.

Most nights I put her in footed pajamas and put a diaper pin right under the top of the zipper. A regular safety pin didn't work, she figured out how to take it off. I had to find those old style diaper pins with the blue top. She hasn't figured out how to open them yet, so it keeps her from unzipping her pajamas. When I remember to pin it, that is!

They have learned a new thing. Something they can manipulate and see a result. It is a basic foundation for learning skills. She is getting fine motor skills and you'll see more of this. I agree with the others. Put a strip of packing or duct tape around the top of her diaper so she can't tear the sides or open the tabs. I would also use a safety pin that was super hard to push and open, a heavy duty one, on the zipper top so she could not undo it and pull it down.

I feel your pain..

I would get zip up jammies - cut the feet off if they have feet - and put her into them backwards. Also, a onesie over the diaper.

My daughter would do that during naps starting at 15 months. That's when I decided to potty train her....... I also bought those sleep sacks that have zippers in the back.

We put our 2-year-old son in a Halo Sleep Sack and safety pin the zipper. www.halosleep.com. They make them nice and big for 2-3T, and it's so soft and comfy! He started doing that regularly and then wetting the bed and then we'd have to wake him up to change the sheets, etc. This quickly and safely stopped that habit! :) Good luck!

I think almost every 2 or 3 yr old goes though this stage... the only thing we found to do with a few of our kids was to put the diaper on backwards and pin it with a baby safety pin. Most nights all they had on in the morning was the backwards diaper & pin, but it stopped them from soiling the sheets.

It is also an indication it is time to really work on potty training... just as a heads up if you haven't started yet.

Duck tape the diaper and then put pajama's on backwards and pin the zipper or whatever as long as the child can't reach it. In the day put clothes on backwards and do the same as they usually will do it at nap time too. It will end eventually if you do this. You haven't lived until you have twin grandsons doing this. :-) They're almost 4 now and potty trained and it is long ended.

You could try potty training. Then it wouldn't matter that she was sleeping naked.
