Monitor his beahvior. If he becomes unresponsive or lethargic or pupils look dialated then seek medical attention but if he is acting normal, i.e. playing, eating and responding fine then he should be ok.
My 2 year old fell from his high chair this a.m. He landed on his side - on his arm and side of his head. He cried at first but calmed down pretty quickly. There was a little bruise on his face near his temple, but other than that he seems like his normal self. Should I be assured that he is fine, or does he need to see the ped.?

Hi M.,
I am so sorry this happened! I would watch for signs of a concussion and also place a call to the pediatrician. I would tell them what happened and ask to speak to the advice nurse so they can determine if he needs to be seen. He sounds ok to me, but I would definitely call anyways. Best wishes!

Check to see if his pupils are dilated or unequal which is a sign of concussion. Also, his arm or side may have absorbed most of the force. Luckily small children are not very heavy, and a fall that would really hurt an adult, may not hurt a kid. Give the pedi a call anyway. All parents have these scary head-injury concerns at some point. Good luck : )
My dauther fell from bed when she was only about 7 months old she is now 14 months and perfectly fine i guess it depends on how hard he hit just keep an eye on him to make sure he don't have a concussion and if he seems fine i wouldn't worry to much just next time he is in the doc maybe mention it. hope that helps
It won't hurt to call and you'll feel better if you do. I think when our babies fall like that it's more traumatizing to US than them :o) I'm sure he's just fine though.
