2 Yr Old Birthday Party Planning

I'm looking for a place to have our daughter's 2nd birthday party. Not too big, nothing crazy. Our place is really small and so I was hoping to find a rental hall out of the YMCA or church and do catering, lots of balloons and maybe a balloon artist, face painting and rent an inflatable slide/jumpy thing for entertainment. She will only last about 2 hours so I figured that would be just fine.
I'm looking for suggestions of locations that any of you may have used or know about. We've only been in Dallas for one year so I'm not familiar with too many places.
Any help would be appreciated, Thanks Mamas!!

How about "The Little Gym" They are great and it is age appropriate. They set everything up and run the party. The only thing you have to do is show up w/ cake and drinks- they take care of the rest. They even serve the cake. It will cost about the same as what you are planning to do. We had our daughters 2 year birthday there and it was great. Good luck.

The local splash/spray parks have covered picnic areas you can rent & bring your own food, you can also have an inflatable slide/jump set up there as well. That way kids already have the regular park play sets, the spray park areas (if it is during the summer) and usually a small pond/creek nearby. The dollar tree has balloons for $1 and tons of fun decorations. Not sure where you are located, but there are spray parks at Ridgewood Rec and North Lake Highlands rec centers. Good luck!

That IS a lot for a 2YO...that sounds like more for a 5 or 6YO party. Just my 2 cents.

2YOs like simple things in life, like a playdate at the park with cake and ice cream, maybe take the kids to a splash pad for an hour, then bday cake.

Remember, 2 is young and they barely remember what they had for bfast in the morning, let alone a huge (and expensive) blowout. Plus take it easy on yourself...the less stress for you, the less stress for your child, and the more fun everyone has.

Good luck!

L.,
Your ideas for your daughters party sound like a lot of fun. My only concern is her age. She is very young to have face painting and balloon artist. The only reason i say that is that i do not know that she would remember having those things at her party. Personally I would wait a couple of years for something that extravagant.
I have two boys and i have basically followed the same patern with them. For their second birthday i usually kept it small, packed a nice picnic lunch and headed tot he Ft.Worth Zoo for the day. That way you take care of everything all at one place and its really not to expensive. Its just a suggestion. I hope i have not over stepped my boundaries with my suggestions.

Good luck!

My son will be 2 in October and I am having a Elmo party for him at our house, which our house is not big, but in October it will be a little cooler, so we will be inside/outside. I always worry about entertaining the mix of ages at the party, but so far I've planned to do "Pin the Nose on Elmo" and see how fast the kids can fill up a goldfish bowl, as they stand in a line and pass the water down...pretty sure it'll be funny and maybe a little wet. Anywho, I just thought maybe if your daughter liked a character maybe you could something like that. I like the idea of a ballon artist!!! I also think Little Gym is a good suggestion. I looked into doing it at the Fort Worth Zoo, but they have to be turning 3, but maybe next year! Hope your daughter has a great day!

Not sure where you are but I know the Town North YMCA on ____@____.com has rooms you can use for a party. You can also rent the spray ground if the party is in the summer. I don't think you could have the bouncy house, but I am not sure. Gymbore play and music also has parties which are perfect for two year olds. There is a Gymbore @ preston & forest near the whole foods. Have Fun!
