2.5 Month Old Napping Nightmare

My 2.5 month old used to nap just fine. Once we lulled him to sleep, he was fine on his own without waking up. Then we went on vacation with my husband's family. Of course, my son was held constantly by his relatives and often ended up sleeping on them. Now that we're home, he wakes up crying from his naps after a mere 10 minutes. It's been four days, and I'm going nuts! He still sleeps just fine at night. Last night he slept from 9 till 6, waking only once for food. What's the difference to him I wonder, and how do I put an end to this?

What can I do next?

I think he'll just need time to get used to his routine again.

If you have air conditioning I would try swaddling him or look into the Magic Sleep Suit. There are also different kinds of slightly elevated sleep contraptions that have padded adjustable sides to make the baby feel more secure. You put them right in the crib or bassinet on top of the mattress.

Good luck!!

Hang in there a few more days. He should start falling back into a normal routine for you. Try using something like a fan in his room to give white noise. I use it for naps only and it work for my little guy. At night he is fine without it but during the day it helps keep him asleep. (He's one now)

He got used to being held!! Putting him to sleep during the day in his carseat or stroller, he will feel safer.

It is hard when they are that young. Let him scream,he will go back to sleep. I know it is hard but you need to get him back into his routine. the only other thing to try is a baby swing if you have one and see if that will help him out. may be he will fall asleep in the swing. stick with what you think is best,it will work out.
