Hello first off let me tell you that for several months I have had ear problems and the emt said it's probly just from pregnancy bc there is no infection but then just recently my eyes starts doing something like an abnormal eye movement they feel weird when I move them up and down and side to side they kind of clutch as I would call it like it not smooth when I'm looking around also I have eyebrow bone pain around my eyes and on the bone of the side of my eyes and when I move my eyes sometimes I feel them bump something and it makes it on my eye sore in the back. I also have been experiencing lights in the eyes and spots etc last I just started having muscle spasms in my face and arms and legs what could this be? This can't be hormones from my pregnancy. I went to the eye docter he said everything looks ok inside the eye but symptoms have gotten worse and I'm only 19and scared help me somebody out there

What can I do next?

My dear friend Heidi went through something similar. She was pregnant and scared to death. Doctors thought she had a tumor on her optic nerve. She went to a neurological opthamologist to get checked out. Because she was in her first trimester, she could not have an MRI done. When all was done, it was caused by her hormones going crazy with her pregnancy. She was pregnant with twins! She was one of two people her specialist had seen display these symptoms ever! Most had never heard of it. I will see if she still has the information on what it was. there is a diagnosis for it, but I can't remember what it is. Email me if you want more info.

Get yourself to an Opthalmologist ASAP and/or a Neurologist the symptoms that you describe fit MANY problems only those kinds of Docs can give you the answer you need. It may be just stress or lack of energy due to not sleeping well but your eyes are too important to just let it go.

I would recommend seeing another doctor just to be sure. I'd talk to your OB as well as there are sometimes strange things that happen to your body during pregnancy that seem completely unrelated to what is happening to your body. My eyes changed shape when I was pregnant. I couldn't wear my contacts the whole time I was preggo and they are still uncomfotable so changes to the eyes is normal. For your comfort and reassurance, I'd talk to your OB and another eye doc.

Maybe call the ENT back today. I had pain like that and it was due to a severe sinus infection. I have no idea if that is what your suffering from, I've never heard of this being related to pregnancy, but I'm no dr. either.
Best wishes for getting well soon!

Hi....S....

I agree with everyone else, get to a doctor......it could be many things.......it could be diabetes, which you can get while you are pregnant.......especially if it runs in your family..........does it get worse when you eat a lot of sugar or carbs?

Get yourself an appointment and make sure that you and that baby are ok.........better to be safe than to be sorry.........

Congrats on the baby and take care......let us know what you find out.

S., you are best to have something like this diagnosed by a doctor rather than us Mom's. Call this morning and tell them you are very anxious and would like to come in today. Call your internist or OB.

Not to scare you but changes in your vision (ie: lights and spots) can be a symptom of preeclampsia. Just to be safe call your OB.

Go see someone else. Your eyes are nothing to wait on. Those sound like serious symptons, and should be addressed. They may turn out to be minor, but don't wait on this one.

Get yourself into the Dr. TODAY! Call your OB and tell them what is going on and demand to be seen. They may have to refer you to a specialist but this doesn't sound normal to me and it could be something as simple as hormones but none of us are doctors here so it would be best to go and see a Dr. and get the proper diagnosis and care plan for you and your baby.

I would get another opinion. The lights in the eyes are likely an ophthalmic migraine. Doctors will tell you that they don't know what causes them, but for me they always happened when I hadn't eaten in a while. My instinct says that something important is missing from your diet right now.

Muscle spasms are definitely from pregnancy. I had them alot. You can check your potassium levels as well. The eyes could be your sinuses as I know sinuses are affected when pregnant which could be indirectly affecting your eyes. Hang in there. Alot feels scary but hang in there it will all be worth while the moment you meet your bundle of joy. Good luck!

Wow, surprised the eye doctor found nothing amiss.
Have you spoken with your OB, or at least the nurse?
Get on Google and type in your symptoms, getting as much info as possible.
There may be a deficiency in vitamins or minerals.
Try to remain calm and focused on healing. And best wishes for a safe and quick delivery and a happy, healthy baby!
Blessings, S.

Experiencing lights/spots is something to mention to your MD right away! This can be an indicator of high blood pressure issues. You can get your blood pressure checked at a drug store or grocery store. Even if your blood pressure is not high I would tell doctor your symptoms. Also I would consult an OB/GYN doctor instead of the eye doctor as it is probably something they would be better able to help you with. So first call your OB/GYN and get your blood pressure checked at a local store. If you are really having worsening issues then definitely go to the emergency room. Your health and the baby's health are nothing to take lightly. You are a great mom already for paying attention to your health an paying attention to things that concern you. Just follow up until you get an answer. You know your body best and if something isn't right or normal then you are probably right.

I would say this warrants a call to your eye doctor and to your OB....it could be something as simple as your eyes changing during pregnancy...but then it could be something that needs attention. My first thought when I read the title of your question was that it could be blood pressure issues but I can't imagine blood pressure causing the things you are describing. There are probably an entire HOST of things it could be and the best place to go for answers is to the professionals!!!
