Thanks for letting us know everything is ok!
When I was pregnant with my twins I would drink COLD ice water right before the sonograms because that usually got them moving. Or, ice cream seemd to work too.
Good luck
Update from last now 21 weeks and i'm having a baby Girl she is great and everything is well.I'am having a 3rd baby due in March,i'am almost 17 weks pregnant and have felt baby move several times in a day for the past weeks.Since my headaches began on Friday and very extreme over the weekend to the point of me calling the Dr. to see if I was ok did bedrest off and on ate, drank water and laid on left side to see if I can feel baby move and nothing still nothing.Am getting concerned but I have no other symptoms such as vagianl bleeding. My bloodpressure is good took it over the weekend.Any advice will be greatly appreciated.Have my appoinment in the morning(Tuesday)so I pray that they will be able to detect heartbeat and get me in for an US.
I have read all your responses and Thank You all for your kind words and experiences.I went in this morning told the nurse as soon as she asked if I was feeling movement I told her no not since this headache that came on late Friday into the weekend when it was worse put myself on bedrest and did very little also explained to her that I was dizzy. She caught the heartbeat right away it was on the left side of my bellybutton this time not the right side lower half (so maybe baby is shifting into positions) she said that is baby and I was then calm inside, she had told me that I may have had a viral infection and needed the rest and that headaches are noraml to have during pregnancy. Also confirmed the headaches with my dr and he said they are very common till the 20th week.

not to alarm you, but once you feel your baby start to move it shouldn't stop. that could be a very grave sign. if you don't feel movement for an HOUR you are supposed to stimulate your baby....drink a pop, eat something sweet, rub your belly, poke him a little. if still no movement go to the dr. no movement in 2 days is very concerning. if you were 37 weeks it wouldn't be as bad because he could just be out of room. but at 17 weeks i would get to the ob NOW. i'm not trying to scare you or make you feel bad, but seriously, don't wait until your appt. go now. That horrible headache could have been a blood pressure crisis or nothing at all, but it needs to be checked immediately. good luck.
Thank God the baby is ok. Enjoy the rest of your pregnancy!
HOORAY!! I wish you the best with any infection you might have. Lots of prayers for a wonderful 23 weeks and amazingly healthy baby!!!
I just want to tell you that I am praying for you.
I did have one baby (my 3rd) that I almost never felt move. Back in those days they didn't do ultrasound much, and especially if your insurance wouldn't pay for it. (Mine wouldn't)
Just when we felt it had been too long since any movement, (days) she would roll a little.
I feared that she was going to have some serious deformity or something even if she was born alive. My first two had been so active ! My boy actually bruised my uterus ! (according to my OBGYN)
It turned out that she was born perfectly healthy. She was very tiny, and a very quiet, sort of "laid back" personality. She is still that way. (At 21 years old)
So, things could be just fine, but if the worst has actually happened, try to remember that God is there for you, He loves you, and there is a reason, even if we can not see it now.
Please tell us what happened at your appointment.
You're in my prayers,
B.
Dear S.,
We'll keep you in our prayers! Please let us know how your appt goes, ok? Hugs to you, S.
Sorry i have no words of wisdom. Just wanted to say i hope the appt goes well and that your baby will be ok. Making the appt was a good thing. Only kind of movement i felt my son do when i was pregnant with him was hiccup and once n awhile a little punch or kick. He wasnt an active baby. Try drinking something with sugar in it, i had to get stress test done and they told me to eat or drink something sugery so the baby would move.
I am SOOO glad that things turned out alright. From someone who suffered SEVERE migraines during pregnancy...I just wanted to let you know you don't have to. Talk to your Dr. Mine gave me an Rx of Tylenol3 to use when they came on and I was told to also drink caffeine to help diminish the headaches (since caffeine reverses the constriction of the bloodflow that is causing the headaches). I will say that the only side effect that I saw from the T3 was the fact that my son was rather immune to Tylenol the first 1 - 1 1/2 yrs after he was born...so we used Motrin for fevers and teething. Best of luck to you!
try drinking a big glass of juice before you lay on your side. the sugar in it will usually trigger movements.
I am 29 weeks pregnant and about 5 weeks ago I came down with a really bad cold and in that time I didn't feel my baby for about 36 and was WAY worried. I went in and got checked and an ultrasound and he was A OK. my ob said it was probably due to me not feeling well and the fact that he had alot of fluid around him that I hadn't felt any movement... I am praying that something like this is the case for you.
As it is Tuesday Morning and you are probably at your appointment, I will just pray for you that all is all right. I'm sure that it probably is. I know how scary it can be. Because my daughter's placenta was in front, I had a hard time feeling her move unless it was strong movements anyway. At best I would only feel her a couple of times a day. It would completely freak me out if a couple of days went by where I didn't feel her move. Your baby was likely affected by your headaches and probably is resting to feel better, like you did.
My best advice is whenever you feel something just isn't right, like not feeling baby move for a couple of days, contact your doctor or nurse or at the very least the nurse's hotline.
Good luck and Congratulations!
I know this is hard to hear, but try not to worry. It is unusual to feel movement before 20 weeks so it is likely that the baby has turned around in all of the fluid and that you cannot feel the baby's tiny kicks and punches.
I will pray for you and your unborn baby. Please let me know how it all turns out. I hope all is well! K.
That happened to me with my first (only) pregnancy. I walked around quite a bit and he finally "woke up".
I hope all turned out okay... Drink juice and see if that helps wake up the baby enough that you feel him/her. But, definately, see a doctor immediately or at least talk to your nurse over the phone any time you have concerns such as these. I had severe headaches when I lost my last baby's twin and continued to have some severe ones speratically until the sac was completely absorbed which took several months. Regular headaches are common though troughout pregancy because of hormonal changes.
The only reason I've heard you don't feel baby's movement is if you have inverted pelvis... but you were feeling movement before.
My second pregnancy, I went to the emergency at about 7 months (after dr told me to go, they were booked) when I thought I felt no movement for a couple hours. They had me drink orange juice, put me on the monitor and in about 20 minutes or so baby started moving a lot. and monitored me for 40 minutes more.
So, next time drink oj, wait 1/2 hour, then call dr if still no movement, who will likely have you come in or go to emergency.
If you go through this again, maybe you should consider getting a heart/movement monitor for the infant. I had to get one I got so worried during my first pregnancy. They are I think about $25 at Babies R Us. At first, you will only be able to hear movement (try not to use it right after you eat =) and eventually even the heart.
Hello. I just had a baby three weeks ago. I would call your doctors office tomorrow and just let them know. They may just have you come in to check the heart rate. For me two days would be too long for no movement. Did you try drinking juice for something with sugar in it and then laying down to feel movement? Also when I was very active I didnt notice movement too much. But then again they say you feel the most fetal movement after 22 weeks pregnant. There probably is nothing wrong but better safe than sorry.
Please let us know how the Dr. visit went, I said a
prayer for you. I lost 2 babies and my heart sunk
when I read your request, I now have 3 grown children
and 5 grandbabies. My loss was 32-33 years ago, but
my heart still goes out to others and I pray this is
just one of those things and your baby is perfectly
healthy. My advice would've been to go to the Dr.,
but you're probably already there. God Bless you and
your family.
