I had Sugrery on a hernia in August, then found out I had another one about a month later. They Also at the same time found out that my muscels are split all the way from my rib cage and way past my bellybotton. I have been on the urgent list to go in to get both things fixed, But they have never told me about to wait till I am done having kids which is a good thing you told me so thank you. I just found out as well that I am pregnant with my 3rd baby, so I had alot of questions going through me head as to if I can even carry this baby? Can they remove a hernia that is Painful with being pregnant? I do go see my doctor this upcoming week but can no longer wait for answers, I am worried.

You will need to speak to your doctor. Hernias can be serious or not and some are serious enough that they must be treated, pregnant or not. Sometimes they can be treated conservatively without surgery, sometimes minimally invasive surgery is an option, it depends on the size, location and complicating factors.
Diastasis recti itself is not a hernia, though it may look similar. It is a very common side effect of pregnancy and can be managed without surgery, depending on the seriousness. It happens as the baby grows and stretches out the connective tissue that connects your abdominal muscles. It should not have any negative effect on your current pregnancy. The surgery to repair it is basically a tummy tuck and most good plastic surgeons will ask to to wait with this until you are done having children.

Good luck!

Your questions sound to me like ones that only your doctor can answer. It is difficult to wait. I understand your worry.

Each time you start to think about what may or may not happen take several deep breaths and force yourself to think about something else. Being active doing something that requires you to think about what you are doing will also help.

There is nothing you can do about this now except to manage your very reasonable to have anxiety. Focus on something else. I know that is difficult to do and that you will still worry but you can help yourself worry less.

I believe everything happens for a reason and that everything that happens will work out for the best when we allow life to unfold as it will. Took me many years to learn how to relax and go with the flow.

Pregnancy/delivery with my second child resulted in a ventral hernia and diastasis. I had surgery on my hernia in September, but I don't recall my surgeon mentioning anything about what damage any future pregnancy could cause the hernia repair. It's reasonable that it could cause failure of the hernia repair, but you'd need to speak with your surgeon about that. The diastasis on the other hand is permanent, unless you can afford plastic surgery, and insurance won't cover it. As much as I don't like the way my abdomen looks, I just keep telling myself that it's my mommy badge.
