3 Year Old Birthday Party Ideas in Western Suburbs

My daughter will be 3 in March and we've never had a kids' party for her. Does anyone have recommendations for a place to have a party for boys and girls aged 3-5 in the Western suburbs? We are in Hinsdale, but are okay driving up to 20 minutes away. Many of our friends come from the city or northern suburbs, so proximity to 294 would be even better. I'm okay with chain places like Pump It Up, but if there's an independent venue, even better. Thanks!

What can I do next?

Splatters Create & Party in Villa Park does a great job. My 5 year old had her party there last month. They are very helpful and Missy is very quick to respond to emails. If you look at the website they have a variety of themes and have options for the boys that go along with the theme. I love Splatters!

There's also Monkey Island in Melrose Park - HUGE indoor inflatable place with a climbing gym. Food is served there as well. We did our daughter's birthday there and it was reasonable. Very wide open spaces so you're not on top of each other, like in Pump It Up. Check it out! It's a winter favorite!

Check out the elk grove park district carousel room and juppin' jiggles, it was the best birthday party we have been to and subsequently hosted!

IGI Gymnastics in Westmont (Cass and Ogden) has great fun birthday parties for that age group. We have also had a party at The Barn at Arabian Knights Farm in Willowbrook with pony rides and a little petting zoo. You can have a bounce house, face painter, balloon animal maker..it was a lot of fun albeit a little pricey. Another place we had parties at is Lake View Nature Center in OB Terrace. (83 and 22nd).

Hi S.,

The new La Grange Park district building on East ave, just south of Ogden and east of Lagrange road has a wonderful indoor play space with a padded floor and tons of climbing equipment. You can rent a party room and access to the space pretty reasonably. We had my 4 year old sons' B-Day party there and it was great. They also make available access to a basketball court and other activities if you were to need more athletic/sports stuff for the older kids, but most kids up to about 13 or so would have a good time here.

Good luck with your party.

Check out www.kidwinks.com, a site for parents in the Chicago area looking for places to go and things to do with their kids. The Services section lists over 140 places in Chicago and the suburbs to hold kids' birthday parties. Here's the direct link: http://www.kidwinks.com/ForKids/KidsParty/PlacestoParty/. If you become a member of kidwinks, which is free, you can sort these results in order of distance from your house so you can easily find what's closest to you.
Also check out the Events Calendar and the Restaurants section has an awesome Kids Eat Free Calendar.

Hi,

I know of a great place. It's located in Western Springs which is pretty close to you. Little Monkey Bizness. Very clean, friendly staff, very reasonable and not too busy. I have two girls ages 5 and 19 months and they both love it. They have a big open play room, art room, party room, and a section specifically for those kids not walking yet. Check out their website.

Hi S.. There's a place on Lagrange rd right by the hospital called "Monkey Business" It is perfect for that age group. I babysit a 2 and 4 yr old and they LOVE it. They have slides, a blow up bouncy thing, a blow up slide and a few other different things for the kids. It's really geared toward 5 and under so you won;t have any big kids running them down. They also have a closed in area for under 1 and a craft room where they can paint on easels or draw, etc. Very nice. They even have a coffee and small food area. I would definately take a look at it.

Indoor play area with slides, inflatable obstacle courses, etc for ages 6 and under. Art room too. We go there with my 3 and 4 1/2 year old kids for open play all the time and it is very fun. I think older siblings (over 6) might also be allowed for b-day parties but you would need to check - the equipment is all sized for the younger ones.

My Gym
We had my son's 4th birthday party at the River Forest location. Excellent! Indoor play area and b-day parties have 2 coordinators taking the kids through all sorts of fun activities (hide and seek, ball "pit", zip line made for little kids with a baby seat for the really little ones, and so much more). Zero effort for the parents but tons of fun for kids and grownups too. And they really make sure the birthday child knows that it is their special day.

Kids Town Party and Play in Wheaton, IL 2 miles west of Oak Brook, IL is great for kids under the age of 6 years old. We had our 1 year old party there and the kids had a great time. Here's the web site http://www.kidstownplayandparty.com.
