My son is turning 4 next week and wants to have a superhero birthday party. No problem. My question is, do I need to plan some activities for the party? Up till now, we just let the kids play at his birthday parties. And if I should do some activities, what kind of things do you suggest?

What can I do next?

I love planning kid parties. There are so many old games out there that you can adapt to the occasion. There's always pin the cape on the action hero or whatever else is appropriate. Treats are fun too. If it's superman see if you can find cookie cutters in the shape of an S. These are just a couple ideas. Keeping the group small is usually a good idea unless you have a large house or can do it outside.

I Love throwing birthday parties. My son had a superhero party and we did face painting, the pinata, I purchased a bounce house, they did balloon toss, bobbing for apples, and potatoe sack races. He had a blast and so did all of his superhero friends. Hope this helps!

Birthday's are fun!!!! Of course, I'm bias because I'm a mom of six and we have a bounce house business. We have soooo much fun watching the kids go bananas over having one of our inflatables at their house. They totally exhaust themselves! The parents enjoy them for a couple of reasons: one, the children stay in a central location, and two, they don't have to do any work. We deliver and set-up at your place.
Being a mom of six I understand the value of birthday parties and the memories it builds.
Being the owner of the Bugs Bouncers (nick name of our four year old) my customers range from all ages. Parents get them for one year old birthday's, holidays, and celebrations of all kinds. We have churches, schools, and daycares that have called on us too. It's a win, win situation. I just posted our business with Mamasource not long ago, so I only have a short ad. You can call me for prices ###-###-####. I do want to mention that our busy season is coming up quick and we tend to book up fast. I'll give you more details when you call.
Have fun planning!!!

when my daughter turned four, i found a website that had free printable coloring sheets. i found backyardagins pages to match her party. i also found a large role of butcher paper and finger paints(washable of course) worked really well to entertain the kids.

I only had my 4yr olds first two bdays at our home. After my house got trashed from 11 2yr olds, I vowed I wouldn't do that anymore, so I admire your bravery! =0) We've been to a couple 4yr old bday parties and they had bobbing for apples and a pinata........my child thought both of those activities were wondeful! We may luck out and get good weather, so you could always have some outside activities too. Kids that age are pretty easy to please.........sidewalk chalk, balls, bubbles....they love everything. Have you ever heard of the game Hullabaloo? It is a WONDERFUL kids game that is a big hit on playdates. It would be worth running to the store and purchasing it for the bday party in my opinion. Do that stuff and have some cake, juice boxes, and those individual ice cream cups and you have yourself a bday party! =0) Good luck!!
