5 Month Vomiting

My 5 month vomits any type of formula or breast milk after being exclusively fed breast milk for 5 months. A CT scan, blood work and x-rays all come back normal - she also never has had a fever. She can only keep down pedialyte to stay hydrated, but nothing else. What's going on? This has been going on too long.

What can I do next?

So What Happened?

Thank you everyone for taking time to share your thoughts. To clarify, my baby is 5 months old and this has been going on for 2 weeks..now starting our third. We have tried Soy formula, nutramegin and neocate. We tried neocate the longest for 3 days and it hasn't improved. We are desparate at this point and will now try the breast milk again since I think we have proven this is not a cow or soy milk protien allergy. Any other suggestions. We have been to ACH and a GI doctor neither of which have confirmed anything and both have said this is a weird case and don't know what is happening.

Maybe it's a milk allergy. See advice form a gastro doctor. It helped my grandchild, she was put on Neokate and she is much better.

Hello,

Have they ruled out reflux? I only suggest this because my son had this from pretty much birth and couldn't keep his formula down either.... even the special hypoallergenic very expensive formula! Once he was diagnosed he was put on meds for this and improved little by little and at least wasn't vomiting everytime he ate.

Good Luck to your and your poor little angel!

my nephew did this and they thought he was allergic to milk and put him soy formula and he still threw up so then the finally put him on this expensive formula called progestimil and he got ok. and the state paid for so much of it for them a month.so you might ask your doctor about that idea.

I wonder how long it has been going on. She may have a virus like rotavirus and that might go on for a week or two.
If it's longer then you will have to start looking into allergies/sensitivities. COntact a NAET provider to test you and therefore get rid of what you are allergic to so she can drink your breastmilk with no problems. You must be used as a surrogate with a small child because she is too young to cooperate with treatment. This is a non invasive technique with no needles that really works. Most likely you are both allergic to milk, soy, wheat, corn, egg, some vitamins and minerals. FInd out and get them eliminated. Just because she was fine for several months and know she is not does not mean she has not developed an allergy. Especially if you vaccine her, allergies are produced.

get to a ped Gi NOW. do not waste time w/ your ped. if it has taken your ped 5 months to not be helping your poor baby, then GET A NEW PED and get to a ped GI.
have you had a swallow study? this looks at the mechanics of how your baby swallows.

I think I may have answered this already but if not, then let me know if you want to consult a medical intuitive. Otherwise, tests that show "nothing" mean you have a baby who cannot keep down formula for a reason. Please stay calm and contact me for further information.
