My twins have eczema as well. The girl is worse than her brother. We took them to the dermatoligist right around 6 months of age because it was on the scalp, face, back, everywhere and the twins were so miserable. He gave us a very mild steroid cream (Desonide I think it was) that cleared it up. Several months later, he had to change the cream because the frist no longer worked (Cutivate is the new one). However, when I asked him if we could take them in the pool and do normal activities, he said yes. al we had to do was be sure to reapply the perscription cream and diligently lotion them both up to prevent the dryness of the skin. We have done so ever since and it's worked like a charm! so let him have a ball in the pool this summer and many more to come!
Also, just to mention on the side, my oldest son has a milk and soy protien allergy. He bled rectally and would projectile vomit all the time. We had to put him on a special formula to help and it worked. If you wouldlike any help or suggestions with your son's milk/dairy allery you can always contact me.
