I think it's a little too early to cut out his night time bottle. Even though pediatricians recommend starting babies on solids at 6 months, they still need either formula or breast milk more than solid food. My 7 month old son eats a half container of fruit mixed with rice cereal in the morning. He has a 6 oz bottle before his nap at about 10 or 11 and then sleeps an hour or two. When he wakes up from his nap, he has a 6 oz bottle when he is hungry. He doesn't have any more solids until dinner time, around 5:30 or 6. I feed him a half container of veggies mixed with between 1/4 and 1/3 cup of rice cereal. He eats that, then has his bath and a little play time to wear him out. I make him a 6 oz bottle for bed time, although he doesn't always drink the entire thing. Ease up on the solids a little and give him a break. He is still learning what in the heck a schedule is! Good luck!
