My 6 month old boy had been sleeping through the night for a couple of weeks recently. Before that he was up once a night for a quick bottle. THEN all of a sudden...his teething symptoms increased and now its been weeks of him waking up crying every two to two and a half hours or so every night!!! the only way to get him back to sleep is giving him a bottle , and I know he doesnt need to eat that much at this point. He's getting tylenol before bed and teething gel on his gums. How do I deal withthis?????? My daughter never had trouble sleeping so I really need help with this. The worst part is, our current living situation has both he, and my toddler sleeping in the same room, so now she is also being disturbed. WHAT DO I DO??? Is this going to pass????

What can I do next?

How long has this been going on for? Because teething comes and goes for an infant. He may still be hungry try putting a little bit of cereal in his bottle. If he is waking up from being hungry that may keep him full through the night.

This too shall pass :)

In the mean time is there any where else he can sleep, maybe in a bassinet since he is still small in the library or any other room that he can be secluded in? If you know for sure he is not hungry then do not respond to him (I know easier said then done) but you will create a bad habit and mess up everything you have worked for to get him sleeping through the night. In your daughters room turn on a sound machine or a fan to drown out the crying so she is not affected and do the same for yourself. I promise you he will self sooth himself and start sleeping through the night again. Good luck!

Of course it's going to pass! He's not going to teeth forever. Kids are crabby when they're in pain. Try giving him some wet/then frozen baby washcloths to gnaw on. Remember a dose of Tylenol is not going to deaden pain for all night. Have you tried teething tablets--Hyland's?

Hylands teething tablets in conjunction with the tylenol is great. One of my old coworkers swore by the hylands teething tablets. She said, they helped her son sleep better when he was teething. She thanked me for recommending them. If he wakes up upset give him more teething tablets or tylenol if it has been four hours. Good luck

We use liquid calmag and our kids really sleep through the night! A teapspoon each night at this age is probably perfect. We use Bluebonnet or Lifetime and it's blueberry flavored. Calcium is a natural painkiller and nervous system relaxant. It might take 2-3 night for the calcium to start taking effect, but we give it to our kids nearly every night and they sleep soundly and wake up happy and refreshed. Also, Hyland's Homeopathics have something called Calms Forte 4 Kids and they work well, especially in conjunction with the calmag. Even their teething tablets are good. I used all 3 for my middle son EVERY SINGLE DAY AND NIGHT.

It's also not toxic on his liver and kidneys like Tylenol.

Try Motrin instead of Tylenol. It has better lasting power. Of course, ask your dr. first. And yes, this will pass.

Is he learning a new developmental skill like rolling over, sitting up, crawling? When my kids acquired new motor skills like these (and learning to stand), we always had one bad week of sleep and then it would go back to normal. So hopefully this is short lived...

I have 3 little ones and Motrin and a pacifier worked splendidly. The teeth will come in and he'll be your perfect sleeper once again.

Yes he does need to eat that much, besides the teething, he is probably about to go through a growth spurt. Feed him.
