Hi,

My 6 year old son started complaining of a belly pains 4 days ago. They have been off and on and have woken him in the night. We went to the doctor yesterday and had an X-ray done of his belly. It showed an excess amount of gas. We started him on gasx and doesn't seem to be making much of a differences.. Over the past few days He has pooped a few times nothing substantial kind of on the hard side. He has not gone today and says he doesn't have to go. He has been eating and drinking mormally when he is not feeling yucky. At first i tought it was the stomach bug but there has been no diarreah and only twice he vomited right after car rides. On a side note he just started first grade and has had minor behavior issues a few times this year.....i will be taking him back t the doctor tommorow but wanted to see if anyone had some insight for me. :(

What can I do next?

It could be a stomach bug since he has vomited a couple of times.

Sounds like classic constipation - not enough poops and the ones he has are not soft enough. He's not eating or drinking "normally enough". Increase the fiber and the water. More fruit (but no bananas), no cheese, more veggies, high fiber foods (whole wheat bread for example), and lots of water. No milk for right now. My guess is he's vomiting because he's kind of blocked up and maybe holding it in - a lot of kids do this.

When you say he's pooped a few times but nothing substantial and on the hard side I'd suspect constipation. Try giving him prunes and/or milk of magnesia.

Try aloe juice. I have attached the one I use. All my boys were on zantac for acid reflux and they are all off their meds because of this product. Not all aloe is the same though so be careful. Most have lanolin which will cause diareah. This one doesn't have that. I get the strawberry kiwi and the kids love it. It will also boost the immune system and help keep him healthy. :)
