Oh yes they are full of energy and it just seems to increase!
Have you tried taking him for playdates or a baby gym class?
My 8 month old boy has so much enery that he just screams and flails his arms and legs around in excitment! What activites or toys can I get for him to spend that energy on?

Take him to the park..for some fresh air. If he is able to sit up get a little kiddie pool.
I would recommend an activity jumper / exersaucer, too! We had the Baby Einstein Activity Center that my daughter looooved at that age - she could jump up and down, spin around and try to stand - and it had lights, music, etc that she could occupy herself with, too. It's adjustable, so it will last a while - Check it out!
We have a penguin that is weighted in the bottom and has balls inside. It is basically a punching bag that makes noise when you tip it over. My daughter loves it and has enjoyed pushing that thing over since about that age. It doesn't require much coordination to make it work. She still loves it now at 15 months old and she carries it around the house by the tuft of hair on its head.
My son loved his jumparoo at that age. 5-10 months we used it most and he walked at 10 months. Around 18 months we got him a mini trampoline and he still loves it at 4.
My daughter is almost 8 months old and does the same thing. We got her some Fischer Price toys to play with that make sounds and help with teaching her things. One of them is a bongo looking toy. The cool thing about it is that she can roll it and chase it when she is crawling. The other things that we got are a cookie jar with shapes that go in the sides, a train that she can push and pull around with her when crawling and a toy that looks like the dashboard of a car. She really loves them and rolls around with them all the time. We also have a V-Tech ball for her that rolls with her and that she can push around when crawling. They are fun and make noise so it keeps her occupied and wears her out. Hope this helps....Good luck!!
Hi T.
Lots of kids scream & flail. Not unusual behavior at all. Screaming doesn't mean they are upset. Excitement is a great reason to scream, but if you don't like the pitch then begin saying "talk to mama" and "you are having fun"
My most active started walking at 7 mo. so we walked around the house pretending we were marching, airplanes or whatever I could think of. He climbed out of the crib before 6 mo. and we were sure our older son was taking him out. Nope!
As an aside our least active never climbed out of the crib, at 4 yrs. we took the side off, and he didn't walk til 14 mo.
Personally I think engaging active children in imaginative play is the most helpful. If he is crawling -- crawl with him it is a great help to reading skills saying things like lets go to _______. Have fun!
Jumpers, and walkers are good if he is at that level.
God bless you and enjoy your wonderful son and the fun he is having
This is normal for a baby his age, EVERYTHING is exciting to him. Any toys are good, really. Of course, I think ones that don't involve batteries, and ones that make him do something or encourage imaginitive play are best. Also, an exersaucer is great for that age.
Get a jumper. When you need a little break from chasing him everywhere, you can put him in the jumper, he will bounce around, and you can get other stuff done :)
