I was wondering if any body has a good self tanner, that makes you brown instead of orange and when it fades, it does not get blotchy,it just fades naturally?

What can I do next?

My roommates and I had A LOT of experience with self-tanners in college. I found that my favorite is the Mary Kay brand self-tanner. Also, another tip, put lotion on before the self-tanner to avoid having any really dry spots that will soak up the self-tanner causing blotches.

And my advice for removing a bad self-tanner is the advice from the movie, "The Wedding Planner", "1/4 c. lemon juice, 1/2 c. salt, and loofa - scrub, scrub, scrub." I've never tried it, but I can't think of any reason why it wouldn't work.

Good Luck!

I use the Clarins one too, and I love it. If you are pale, it is wonderful. If you aren't, you might not be happy with it. It is subtle. That means it won't blotch nearly as much though. One tip: get some bronzer gel and mix it in with the self tanner before you put it on so that you can see where it is going on and where it may be too thick. For the blotches you already have, I think the only thing that works is exfoliating (some say lemon juice) and time.

Oh, I don't know how to remove a bad one. I do know that Mary Kay makes a really nice self tanner however. I am REALLY fair skinned and I was happy with the light tan that the product gave me gradually over the course of one week - the best part being that I did not show up to work one day suddenly tan!

I prefer Arbonne's, not only do I get to purchase at wholesale, it works and I have no doubt it's safe for my skin! you can check it out at my site, www.J..myarbonne.com and keep in mind we have a 45-day money back guarantee. Try a good exfolient, sugar would be easier on your skin, we have some great ones as well with our FYI line! Hope that helps!

Guinot (Auto Bronze Self Tanning Cream).

It's not cheap (got mine @ Gene Juarez), but it works very very well. It's also brown, so you can see as you're applying it that it's even. I just used it on my legs this year, and it matched to my natural color on my arms perfectly after 2 applications. I've used it allover other years, but this was the first year I actually had normal skin to compare it to. The skincare dept./spa @ Gene Juarez gives out free samples of most of their products so you could get one of those and test it first.

As for getting rid of the old color, time is the best method. 2nd best is to go tanning. You could try bleaching agents (like lemon juice, or _____acid lotions, or search Asian skin care...the Japanese in particular use products to make their skin whiter), but do you really want to be soaking your skin in so many chemicals? It's also possible for them to react with each other and you could end up with a worse problem than just orange. Like red, and painful!

If you've had a misadventure with your face, I would suggest seeing a licensed professional @ a spa. They may be able to figure something out for you, or if not, they could concoct a heavier foundation for you to wear while your skin returns to normal.

Good Luck!

I love Clarins, it's expensive but good color. I also use one from Victoria's secret too sometimes. Love the smell of that one! I've heard you can remove bad self-tanner with lemon juice, not sure how, haven't tried it. Good luck!

I like the Jergens Natural Glow and the one from Mary Kay. I think they both work really good if you have fair skin.
I accidentally spilled peroxide on my leg once and learned that it removes tanner. :-)

I've actually had EXTREMEMLY good luck with Jergens I thinks it's called natural glow..sorry, it's in the bathroom...(which is occupied at the moment =p). But it's just a body lotion with some color involved. I only use it on my legs because no matter what they never match my arms. I'm SUPER pale and it doesn't look awful or unnatural or my husband would say something. It's also not crazy expensive. Also, to remove a bad self tanner, you can try an exfoliating scrub. You can either use a cream (they sell them in the aisle with the bosy wash) alone, or you can mix it with lemon juice for added oomph. Good luck.

I to wanted a good self tanner. I am a Mary Kay consultant and sell a self tanner. The company just changed the formula this last summer. The old formula took 1/2 hour to dry before you could put on clothes and could leave you blotchy. To counter that I buffed before I washed. That helped to tone down the orange also.
That beging said, as I said that was the old formula. The new formula is ten times better. You put it on as a daily lotion. No more waiting for 1/2 hour in the buff. The color is gradual. It blends very well with your natural tan.
You can find a conslutant in your area and try this self tanner with a 100% money back guarantee, or eamil me and I will mail it you. The cost is $16 for 4floz. I will not charge you for shipping.
Hope this helps. (____@____.com)

I recommend Bath & Body Works Instant Radiance Gradual-tan body lotion. It's just that, gradual, but that way it looks more natural. It comes in all of thier yummy scents of thier regualr soaps and lotions so you have lots of options.
