A Great Pediatric Office

Hello everyone!
I am looking for a pediatric office where the staff (receptionists, nurses and doctors) are all considerate and helpful. I also would like to find an office that is focused on preventing the spread of illness through out the waiting room. Of course another important factor is wait time. If I make an appointment at 330 I want to be seen at 330, with the exception of 10-15 minutes. Waiting in the waiting room with a sick baby and other sick children trying to touch her for 30-45 minutes in unacceptable. I know that these kinds of offices exist, at least in Colorado. While I was out of town my baby was sick. We arrived and they immediatley put us in a room, to prevent the well child visitors from getting sick. They (the doctor and resident) also saw us within 10 minutes of being in the room. Ok so this is going a little far, but she also gave me phone number in case I needed something after hours!! Which I did, because we had her call in thescript to a pharmacy that closed too early, so I called her. SHE answered the phone and called it into another location for us! That is one awesome Doctor! The staff at the office were also very nice and helpful.
I really hope I am able to find an office like that here at home! I would like an office close to 144th and Maple, but I am willing to drive across the city for that exceptional care!
Thanks everyone.

I also believe that Boys Town Pediatrics is great! I see Dr. Katherine Penny. She is wonderful!! Her husband is also a pediatrician in the same office. It is located on 84th and Center. She handles my daughter with a soft touch and she is a great doctor!!

I take my kids to Greg Penny he works for boys town. His office is on 84 th st and center. He is such a great doctor, he goes out of his way with my baby that was born 6 weeks early. If my child is sick he will get them in that day and he even works on sat. I live in council bluffs now and i will drive the distance for my children to go to him. One thing i also like is he talks and plays with the children and gets down to their lever. My 3 year old loves going to the doctor and she even likes going there even if she is geting a shoot.

Drs. Macklem, Sindelar, Moffat, et al at Childrens Physicians in Bellevue are amazing. They won't give you their personal phone numbers (nor would I expect them to) but they do have 24 hour on-call service. A staff of nurses are available 24 hours and they have access to the on-call doc. My children see Dr. Macklem. We used to drive an hour to see her. Now we live 20 minutes away. We could find a doc 5 minutes away or even less, but we are sticking with her because we know she's the best.

I love, love, love Dr. Patrick Stainauer with Boystown Pediatrics and he is at 142 and Maple!! I have had a few issues with his receptionists being snippy and rude but after talking with him about the problem, it has never happened again. HIs appointments run right on time and I very rarely have to wait. He does have a "sick" area in his waiting room that is away from the main waiting area but of course it is up to the parents to use it. The only complaint I have is the few times that I have needed to take my daughter in for an ear infection or a cold when she was 3 months old was we were unable to see him; he is soooo good that he is constantly booked up. I have seen his partners in the office and they are all super nice and explain everything to you. Dr. Pat makes you feel like your baby is the only baby in the world and he took super good care of my baby when she was first born in the hospital.

I use Boys Town Pediatrics attached to Creighton University Medical Center. Dr. Rupp was my pediatrican as a child and now I use her for my little girl. She explains everything in detail and answers any questions. Also, the last few appointments I have had we only waited maybe 10 minutes in the waiting room. I highly recommend Boys Town Pediatricians!!

I agree with everyone about Boystown! We also go to the one at Lakeside and see Dr. Sprague (the other doctors there are great too) They are very helpful, they can get you a sick baby appt ASAP and the nurses call back quickly if you need to leave a message. They have a well child and a sick child waiting area. Sometimes (esp. late in the day) you have to wait a bit - I've waited about 20 minutes before for a well child visit, but never more than 10 for a sick visit...

I really like Boys Town Pediatrics more importantly Dr. Sprague. They are right by Lakeside Hospital and I've really enjoyed this office. I've moved here from Mo. and had two different pediatric offices there that I didn't care for (unfriendly staff, conflicting advice from the doctors in the same office, long waits, etc) but this office is much better than either of those. They do have separate waiting areas, but there not perfect. They do try to get you back quickly and seen quickly, but your requests may be almost impossible to find...good luck!
