I saw it on the news last night and again several times today, but they never showed the whole thing. Have you seen the video of the men and women on the ship "HMS Ocean" singing along to Mariah Careys song "All I Want For Christmas Is You" ? They were deployed for what was supposed to be a 7 week trip and it has turned into more than 7 months. 15 men onboard became fathers while gone and several others had to postpone weddings. They made the video and then found out they ARE going to be home by Christmas! Its really cute, funny, and makes me cry. Maybe you will enjoy it too. I wish I had seen it! It is refreshing when you see something warm and positive on the news/ morning shows.
Happy for them and their families! I couldn't imagine not spending Christmas with my family, not to mention missing my child being born. What sacrifices they make for our safety and freedom! Thank you for sharing.
Very clever and beautifully done. Too bad it came out of a forced separation and emotional trauma.
I just hate the military for what it does to people's lives. Orphaned children, broken marriages, men and women with PTSD rendered useless for the rest of their lives and war. We are a culture in need of diplomacy rather than always reaching for the gun to settle disputes.
While the Brits on HMS Ocean will have Christmas with their families this year what about years to come.
Due to the war I grew up in the midst of I became a lifelong pacifist at the age of seven.
