My good friend and her family are coming to the Phoenix area and I am looking for some fun activities to do while they are here. My boys are 2 1/2 and 7 months and her daughter is 11 months old. I thought we would go to the zoo one day but we have an entire week to fill. Any suggestions would be great. Thanks!

What can I do next?

Check out Arizonamama.com or try to check out the book The Arizona Mama's Handbook at the library. It's a great resource and full of activities. I live in Gilbert at Higley and Pecos, so if you live close, you can come look at my book for many ideas.

The weather is so nice this time of year, that the park might be fun. Freestone has a lake and ducks and train ride, ferris wheel, etc. The new mall on Williamsfield and Greenfield has an outdoor play area. Try "Hangar Cafe" off Germann and Mcqueen rd. It's right up close to the airplanes at a small airfield as they land and takeoff and has good breakfast. Way 2 Play Cafe is fun. I recently went on an easy hike at Haws trail. It was very easy and my 2 yr old LOVED it. Family Fun Van in Mesa is held outdoors. It's free and starts with free play with toys that they provide, then snack time, song/dance time, storytime, and they make a craft and give the kids a book. It's at a different place every day of the week, but every monday it's held at the same place and so on, if that makes sense. Here's the link for more info: http://www.mesaunitedway.org/index.php?pr=Family_Fun_Van

Bounce U on Warner and Gilbert is a BLAST for all of us, even my husband. I like to take my son to library story time. My kids love something as simple as Mcdonalds or Chick-FIl-A, and Peter Piper pizza has a large play area (the one on alma school does anyways) and an all-you-can-eat buffet for pretty cheap and kids 2 and under are free.

You can do zoo lights one night. The little ones love that.
There are several railroad parks in the valley one in Chandler and Scottsdale.

Mesa has a wonderful interactive art museum for kids (called the Arizona Museum for Youth) that includes Artville, a special play area targeting kids under 3 years of age. The whole museum is play-based, with lots for kids to touch and do.

This place is on priest& ray road. Nice big inside playground for all ages. I suggest checking it out, my nieces and nephews love it and beg to go there all the time. The website list cost and times. Its like a chuckie cheese but you dont have to spend tokens for kids to have fun. There is a game room, as well as a computer room for people with laptops to use if want too. I highly suggest this place :)

I don't know where you are located in the valley but a couple of other places you might want to check out are Arizona Museum for Youth (arizonamuseumforyouth.com), McCormick-Stellman Railroad park in Scottsdale, Desert Breeze Park in Chandler or Toy Town in Ahwatukee. Have Fun!!!
