Anyone know of any place I can take my 15 month old son to play with children his age? I'm taking him to my little gym for a trial class but I want to know what else is out there..please help!! Thanks! I'm in the old irving area but willing to travel to near suburbs..

They coach soccer from 18 mos to 9 yrs old. Just enrolled my 3 yr old, they are great.
Kindermusik (www.kindermusik.com) is supposed to be fun for kids and help them learn while doing fun & musical activities. Our neighbors take their son (who is now 2 yrs old but have gone for a while now). They have a variety of classes for different age groups (infants, toddlers, etc).
have you tried the nearest YMCA ?
depends upon where you are located, but gymboree is another option.
Other free possiblities: check your area public library's Youth Services Department, many park districts will have mom & tot classes (Oak Lawn Gymanstic Center has a great tot program)

These are small group classes that teach parents how to use sign language with their hearing babies/toddlers through songs, books, activities and games. Each week also focuses on a baby minds activity devoted to a child development topic.

I think the next session starts in the fall but online viewing starts in August.
A mother friend of mine told me about it when my daughter was about that age. The classes they have a great and they are a fraction of the cost of gymboree, bubbles, wiggleworms, etc. My daughter actually preferred the class we had her in over gymboree.
other non scheduled things - depends on where you live. Pump it up Party has drop in play, Fantasy Kingdom, Day Frog, etc
Gymboree is great. It's a little pricey though. I started my son there at 8 months and there's a whole group of us that still see each other on a regular basis even though we don't go anymore. The park district has lots of classes. There are some classes going on in summer though not as many as the rest of the year. CPD classes I recommend are the ones taught by Mr Mike out of Norwood Park (moms and tots music), Mr Jay (moms, dads and tots interaction/sing along) at Norwood Park/ Sauganash/ Edison Park. I bet there are some great instructors at parks near you too. It is too late to register online for summer but if you go to your local park they might still have openings available. The library should have story times and reading programs too.
