Does anyone have any ideas on some extra activities or classes that I can take my 22 month old to? She needs some extra things to do during the week to keep her busy especially with her daddy deploying next week. Any ideas would be helpful.

What can I do next?

YMCA swim or dance lessons. Have you checked with Youth Services at your base. Last year kids of deployed parents got so many dollars worth of free classes on JBLM. About the only thing a 22m old qualifies for is wiggles and giggles on JBLM- a pregymnastics movement class where they get to play on equipment.
Library- to check out books or reading time.
find a play group or MOPS.

Check out meetup.com. Search your zip code and join a few nearby playgroups. They will have activities for her age range. Just check out a few because it may take attending 2-3 things with each one before you fine one you like!

When my hubby was at boot camp my daughter and I would work on projects around the house, she helped me rearrange her room, as much as a 2yr old can:) She helped push her bed and other furniture, she thought it was lots of run. We also went on lots of walks, we talked about the things that we saw and would collect rocks and leaves along the way. At the end of the walk she would usually come home with 1 or 2 rocks. We just tried to keep busy, didn't really do any classes or anything but there might be mommy and me classes in your area.

Definitely try out the Little Gym if there is one in your area! My kids love it. I started my oldest when she was 3 and my youngest when she was 2, but they have classes for as young as 4 months. You can try your first class for free too!!! Its great for exercise and social development!

not sure where you live...but libraries usually have free story hours, rec centers around Seattle have toddler time where they put out gross motor toys (slides, see saws, etc) and they can have free play, walk around at a mall, art projects (my 23 month old LOVES foam stickers, watercolors, playdough, etc.), there are classes (music, gym, etc.) that you can register for...

Libraries are also a great resource! Look into libraries in your area and see if they have story times for small children. These times are more than just reading books--usually include singing, interactive rhymes and motions, games, and play time. And it's all free! I've also met several friends among the moms. Then, afterwards, my son is always excited to take some new books home!

Is there a Little Gym near you? They're a great way for kids to play, run around, learn gymnastics, and it's a great way for moms to meet new friends.
