hi everybody
my son has a severe speech delayed and is developmentally delayed too but very active. actually he hasn't been diagnosed yet but i'm sure that he is. he's like a 2 yrs old traped in the body of a 3 yrs old. music is his passion. several times in school while they singing i heard that he said a few words that he never said before. unfortunately he never says these words again. i know for sure that a musics class along with gymnastic will help. i'm looking for a music class, one that uses music to teach basic developmental skills (social, motor, language). something more structured, not something where everything we do is just running around and being silly. thanks in davance for your response. i am located in the new tampa area.
Bigel Music on Bruce B. Downs just south of County Line Road offers music classes that are much more structured than the ones I've seen at Kidz Club, Gymboree, and other places. They hold their classes in other New Tampa locations as well.

Have you ever heard of Musikgarten? I teach music for toddlers and Pre-schoolers using this method and it is more structured than say Gymboree or Music With Mar. I do have a couple speech delayed students and they enjoy it a lot, especially the mommies who see an improvement through singing and learning the names of the different instruments. The class focuses on ear training using echo patterns, rhythm development, exploring diverse instruments while practicing fine motor skill techniques and enhancing social development. Singing and physical expression are also a part of it. Please let me know if I can offer any more information. The classes are held on SR 54 and 41 in Land O Lakes. There is an evening class and afternoon classes.
