Can anyone recommend a highly qualified, knowledgeable, acupuncturist in the St. Paul area? Can you also tell me what kind of successes you have had with acupuncture? My husband is thinking about going for depression issues.

What can I do next?

I went to Terri Elingsworth for acupuncture, but for fertility reasons. She is at Hennepin Faculty Associates, downtown Mpls. She must have known what she was doing b/c even though I have infertility issues, I got pregnant twice after going there. Of course we had medical help too but it was only after going to her that I actually got pregnant.

Acupuncture is definitely helpful for depression ~ I have first hand experience with this. There are so many acupuncture practitioners in the Twin Cities ~ i.e., there is one on staff at the Langford Clinic in Highland Park that has a good reputation.

In the 15 years that I have been receiving acupuncture, I have never had a bad practitioner. I think they are all well trained; acupuncture school is a four year medical degree and taught right here in Bloomington at Northwest Health Sciences Institute.

My advice: Find one close by so he is more likely to go regularly.

I haven't tried it yet, but I've heard good things about Crocus Hill Oriental Medicine on Grand Ave. It was recommended to me by my sister in law who received acupuncture treatments for fertility issues. I did talk to someone there and she was very friendly and informative. You could probably call them and ask if they thought they could help your husband. I was looking into it for digestive issues.

Hi J.- I know of one in the Highland area.
She came to the VA for a demo and I was her ginny pig as they say. I'd have to do some searching for her info- but good.
If your husband isn't taking omega 3 fatty acids- get him on some good ones- the deficiency can manifest as depression in some cases. I have clients that it made all the difference.

Margery Wells

I went to her although not for depression. She also combines the acupuncture with vitamins and Chinese herbs tailored to your specific needs. I felt fantastic while she was treating me but could not keep up with the cost.
