Hello ladies,

my friend struggles with infertility. She's going through some treatments but not very successful. I heard that sometimes acupuctures help with infertility.

I'm looking for a good local acupuncturist that might be helpful in my friend's case.

Also if any of you had problems with infertility and had successful help with acupuncture, please share your story!

Thanks!

So What Happened?

Ladies, thank you very much for all the information.

I gave all your responses to my friend and she's really happy for getting acupuncturist and chiropractor references.
It happened that she was looking into changing her chiropractor and was glad to get a recommendation from you as well.

I have an acupuncturist in my office, Dr. Jill Strom, and she is awesome. She started in January, and has had great success with fertility and cycle-related issues. We've just started seeing more patients for fertility (before she started, most women came to us once they were pregnant), and so far we're 3 for 3, including me! I had no problem getting pregnant with my first, but it took longer this time. My progesterone levels were low. I had two treatments with Dr. Jill, and the next month my levels were normal. The next month we tried, I was pregnant.

If you or your friend have more questions, you can call her at our office (First Choice Chiropractic) ###-###-####. She'll be happy to answer your questions.

Good luck to your friend!

I went to Mary Zahn... infertility is a specialty of hers. She's off of State Line, though. I went 3-4 times, but at $70 a visit... we ended up doing IVF, so o can't tell you if acupuncture helped or not. It couldn't hurt, but it just got too pricy for us. Many fertile prayers and thoughts from your friend. Been there, done that!

I had my first child at 38 and got pg no problem. After that, I struggled with infertility and had all the tests done that said everything was normal. We did 3 rounds of IUI without success. So, I went to the chiropractic doctor who had just helped me through a painful problem with my neck. His assessment of me was that my energy was out of balance and he did 3 acupuncture treatments within 2 weeks and I got pregnant that first month (at $40/treatment, my total cost of infertility treatments was $120!!). My daughter just turned 1 and I am now 43! He's also helped 2 more couples that I referred to him.

BTW, I also saw him for nausea during the first trimester (worked great for about 10 days, then wore off, so I'd have another treatment), chiropractic adjustments as I gained weight and carried it weird, and then in the last stage, I had acupuncture to stop contractions--it worked GREAT and I got terrific sleep that night. How many women at 36 weeks gestation can brag they got a good night's sleep?!

try Shamayne Tate at Your Wellness Connection. It's at 75th & I-35. I've seen her for over a year for other reasons but she works with a lot of infertility patients and she's wonderful.

I tried acupuncture (plus IUI, clomid, etc.) for infertility, but it didn't help. I did adopt a beautiful little newborn girl three years ago, though! I saw Mary Zhang for about a year. Her bedside manner is not very pleasant, but she claims to have great success rates. She helped a coworker of mine get PG. I've also seen Shemayne Tate at Your Wellness Connection, but not for fertility. She's wonderful--as is everyone at YWC!!
