Our 8 year old has epilepsy and ADHD. He currently takes an anticonvulsant for the epilepsy and no prescription med for the ADHD. It is very important to us to control for the seizure disorder, which is the main reason we haven't implemented another medication for the ADHD. But he is really struggling in school and socially; we don't really feel like we're giving him the best opportunity to succeed at the moment. Has anyone out there used Attend or another type of non-prescription ADHD supplement? We do use some occupational therapy aids (heavy work, trampoline, music therapy) and are improving his nutrition as well, but just looking for more ideas to help him succeed! thanks in advance for any help you can offer...

Hello, my 9 year old has adhd and we have him on stratara. I don't know if I spelled that right but I would talk to your doctor about it. The med. is made so that hopefully the child will not have to be on meds their whole life. The diet don't work that well. My husband and I both have AdD and I wish there were something when I was growing up that I could have took so that I would not still be on meds. I strongly suggest talking to your doctor. No matter how bad we want to not give our children meds this may be better in the long run.

Hi C.. I have also heard of good results coming from the elimination of processed food with high fructose corn syrup. The mom that I know shops at Trader Joe's and makes their own bread in a bread machine. I am slowly eliminating simple carbs & processed foods.
I relate to some of your concerns. I hope that you find a solution that is best for you and your family.

There is a company called LifeForce, who we buy from as we love their products, that makes a juice called Body Balance. It is made from aloe and sea vegetables and is basically raw nutrition in liquid form, which allows your body to absorb more of the vitamins and minerals. My best freind and upline gives it to her daughter who has ADHD types of issues too. It has helped her a lot in school, she can focus better and therefore is more receptive to learning. I'll give you my product link to check it out. There is a satisfaction guarantee for 30 days, where if you don't feel it's what you're looking for you can send it back and get a full refund.
It is www.lifeforce.net/20718417 Good luck with everything, and I hope this will help your family! Take Care, J.

Depending on where you live, you can see if there is a LearningRx in your area. It is a program that helps children with cognitive skills...making connections in the brain. Out of all the kids that have gone through the program with ADHD, half of them are off there meds that they were taking prior to the program. Something to look into. Let me know if you have any more questions.
