I have a friend who gets those large red cyst like zits on her face. she has tried so many different products but they are still there, she is 30. she has done retina (not sure of name..face stuff from doctor) but it dries her out and she is concerned about scaring and such. will these ever go away and has anyone found a more natural approach to curbing their appearance?? I too get them but not as bad and on my back so I just leave them alone.

What can I do next?

Glycolic acid works for me. I buy it in the form of Anew retextruizing peel from Avon but you can get it from differant brands on amazon.com.

I had the most perfect skin as a teen, and as an adult after having babies, my skin went to HELL. Where are her breakouts? If they are on her chin area, they are hormonal. What has worked for me if a mild acne face wash in the am...clean and clear morning burst is what I use, then I follow that with a homemade concoction of "toner" then use Walgreens brand alpha hodroxy face cream. For the evening, I use the apricot scrub followed by toner then moisturizer.
**For any random breakout, I use a hot compress, then follow it by applying a few drops of straight tea tree oil**
My "toner" is a mix of 50% water, 50% organic apple cider vinegar and about 20 drops of tea tree oil. I swear, my skin has been 100x better!!

i get them too and I am 45...:)

1. wash with gentle cleanser -- not soap. nothing with peppermint or alcholhol lemon. something like cetaphil....

2. toner if needed -- no fragrance or alchohol. i like clinique for sensitive skin.

3. spot only -- prescription anti biotic....i put on a clindamycin gel thing on my spots and that's it.

4. lots of water.
5. multi vitamin and omega 3 fish oil.

6. check out if she is eating too much starches and sugars. I love my chocolate but limit cakes cookies breads and pastas.....

She should have her hormones checked.

Adrenal hormone imbalances can affect skin quality. Low aldosterone can cause high testosterone which can cause bad acne.

You might want to try some Proplis Soap and Moisturizer. It is all natural and I believe you can find it at a Natural Health Food store.
