Baseball players-jerseys, baseball hats and sweatpants.
You can do the same with football gear.
Zombie idea sounds great.
My husband & I are plus size, and want to be reasonable ($$) with costumes for a party we are going to. Does anyone have any affordable and creative plus size halloween costume ideas? So far the only thing I can think of is a Dr costume by getting a lab coat and a few accessories. I'm not that creative so I am thankful for any ideas you may have! We are open to all costume ideas!

zombies- tear up some old clothes, buy some face paint that comes with fake blood. All done!
I went out partying for Halloween in my younger years as an accident victim. Lots of people were really nice to me--my costume was good! ;)
I just borrowed old stuff from friends-- A stiff knee brace (the kind that is 2 feet long and wraps around your entire leg), an wrist/arm splint, neck brace, sling for the arm, and a crutch.
One of you could be the patient, and one of you could be the doctor.
?
I was going to suggest a witch for you, and I see Layne suggested zombie which would be a good one for your husband! Have a great time!
We haven't been to a Halloween party in years but the last time we went my hubby dressed up like an old time Mexican drunk-he had a shawl and a sombrero and a bottle of tequilla. Everyone loved it.
I like the Shrek and Fiona idea. and yeah-zombies are big this year.
I think a Dr. and Nurse would be cute
My husband and I have gone as tourists and I found everything we needed at Thrifts Stores and on clearance at Walmart. Hawaiian button down shirts, nerdy sun-visors, shorts and socks/sandals for him, a tennis skort with really flashy sandals with big flowers for me. Fanny pack, straw bag/purse or beach bag, sunglasses, cameras hanging around our necks and my husband had a white band of "sunscreen" across his nose and maps/brochures in his shirt pocket and back pocket of his shorts.
Go to thrift stores!
You'd be surprised how many things they have in all different sizes and having volunteered at one, I know they put all their Halloween-type stuff out right about now. You might get inspired by some things that you find that you might not have thought of otherwise.
I love Halloween because you can literally, basically, get away with anything. My friend and her husband dressed like Ma and Pa Kettle one year. They were so cute!
If you're having a hard time with inspiration, like I said, thrift stores can be awesome.
Best wishes! I hope you have a great time!
I went as prozac one year! All you need is a light green sheet and a magic marker! My bf at the time went as valium!
I have some large friends that dressed as Shrek and Fiona... they pretty much made their own costumes at home.
Zombies are popular and come in ALL sizes :)
