Hi!
I would like to take my 2.5 year old and my 5.5 year old to Disneyland/CA Adventure in February. I plan to take 2 days to go to both parks, and I'd like to sleep in a hotel nearby for one night. I would love advice on the best place to get discounts for tickets and what hotel nearby you think offers the best deal/package. Thank you!

The hotels on the Disneyland property are nice but really, really expensive. On Harbor Boulevard (just across from the main entrance - seriously a 5 minute walk) there are a bunch of family friendly hotels with much lower rates. We've stayed at the Best Western Anaheim Inn and it worked out great. Fun restaurants close by, walking distance to the parks and you can see the fireworks from your room at 9 p.m.

Hi,,,if you know anyone that works for a big company (ie...Northrup Grumman, Toyota, the Airlines) they all have a ticket office where employees can buy discount tickets for all theme parks. Don't know what disneyland tickets cost, but most of the parks have a pretty good discount!

Hi L.,
I just saw something on TV the other day about "give a day, get a day at a disney park". From what I understood you can volunteer for a day at a participating organization and you'll get a free disneyland ticket for 2010. You may want to check out the disney website for more information. Adult tickets are so expensive these days. So a free one could help. Good luck and have fun!

You may want to consider staying at one of the Disney hotels there - that way you can stop for a nap mid-day if need be. It is much more convenient.

the Give a Day, Get a Day is a great offer. And my husband and I just signed up for it and we are volunteering at Club 21 in Pasadena. They support children with Down syndrome and our son has Ds. I would suggest thinking of doing that first. Otherwise I know Costco has discount tickets and if your birthday happens to be soon, you can go for free on your birthday. I think that's about all I know about. Have fun and good luck! Email me if you want more info on the volunteering deal.
