After School Day Care

Hi there - I am a single mom working a full time job and am in need of after-school care for my daughter. I have no other available family support. My daughter is going into the 3rd grade at Lakewood Falls Elementary School, is a good student and gets along with almost everyone she meets. I've checked local institutions and they are either filled up or are way too expensive. The YMCA demands that you join them for a monthly fee and then also have to pay the after-school program fee. Again, all too expensive! I'm wondering if there is anyone out there who wouldn't mind watching my daughter for about 2.5 hours after school each day - she gets out of school around 3:20 and I get home just before 6pm. If you are close to the school, she could walk to your house. And if possible on bad weather days, if you could pick her up, that would be great. Of course I would pay you and we could discuss a reaosnable fee. If you can help, please let me know. Or if you know of an alternative, I'll take all suggestions. Thank you.

Metrodaycare.com (www.metrodaycare.com) has an extensive database of facilities, most of them are day care family homes. You can search by town or zip code. Good luck.

Each county in the state has a Child Care Resource and Referral (CCRR). They can you gie you a listing of child care providers in your area, both centers and home, licensed and non-licensed. Dupage county is 630/790-8009. Dupage/Kane county is handled by the YWCA in Glendale Heights. Call them and they can give you the number for your county if you can't locate it yourself.

I am not familiar with where Lakewood Falls is. My kids go to Lakewood Creek in Montgomery. Is this where you meant? Are you in the area? If so, we might be able to work something out. :)
