Wondering what your routine is after swimming in a chlorinated pool, esp. if you spend several hours x several days/week.

Thanks in Advance!

oops ;) I should clarify.

Do you use specific products after swimming - or just regular soap and lotion? Do you do anything with your kid's ears?

What can I do next?

During the winter we always shower up and put on pajamas after the pool. My kids are 3 and 1 and we do the shower in the locker room with full on bath like shampoo, conditioner, etc. Then we lotion up and put our jammies on. We come prepared with dinner/snacks and the works. My older one will get herself dressed while I dress the little one and then they both eat while I take a quick shower and clean up all our stuff. It takes care of two necessities and my kids are usually zonked after the pool so it's fabulous for me! During the winter we probably only go the pool 1-2 days/week so it's easy. Now, during the summer it's different. I usually have the kids change out of their suits before we leave but I don't bathe them until later on after dinner. We usually go to the pool during the morning/afternoon more during the summer so I wouldn't be putting their jammies on them. I do make sure to moisturize though b/c that chlorine really dries you out!

I also use the Suave swimming shampoo and I use either leave in or spray conditioner. I mostly use the Body Butters from Body Shop b/c they're awesome and leave my kids (and my) skin smelling good and feeling soft but sometimes I use Burt's Bee or Cetaphil. I don't do anything with their ears either.

We use swim caps now, which really help. Without the cap, my daughter's long hair was getting dry about half way down and felt sticky like chlorine hair does. Now it's soft and silky and we swim just as much. Then we use a swim shampoo and conditioner from Sally's. I struggle with swimmer's ear, but my kids don't seem to have any trouble with that, so no drops or plugs.

I should start bringing a lotion for their skin though, I never thought of that. Right now we're just using regular soap in the shower, but I'll add lotion for after. Great idea.

my oldest swims alot swim team.. the dr. said to use cetaphill soap and loitions.. sold at target or walgreens they do not smell.. and the soap doesnt suds alot like fancy soap.. but it keeps her skin from breaking out in rashes and hyderated.. also my 5 year old use it too.. then we use a clarifying shampoo.. like paul mitchell or any swim brand that takes out chlorine.. any conditoner works fine as long as you get the chlorine out. we do not use anything on their ears.. and only once has my dd had swimers ear

After swimming (chlorinated or salt water) we shower/bath. If we have had too much sun exposure, we lotion up afterwards. If you are swimming a lot and therefore exposing your hair to both the sun and the water, be sure to condition....since you may be washing your hair in the morning and again after swimming that is a lot of washing and exposure so you may find your hair is dry...use a gentle shampoo and a good conditioner.

Also we use silicone ear plugs all the time.We live in NV which is dry and we swim alot and almost all year so this is what we do.
Afetr swimming I use swwimmers shampoo from suave-my 5 yr old has thick thick hair,I also use that as a body wash, then I shampoo her hair w reg shampoo and then condition it. Afetr using the swim shampoo as a body wash we use Dove soap and it does the trick and then put lotion on afterwards.
Also before we go swimming I spray a conditioner in her hair-we use pantene one and that helps also. Hope this helps. :) L.
