I these same questions a few months ago with traveling my daughter. I called TSA and they told me that I can bring bottled breast milk and they can not make you throw it away, dump it out, or taste it to prove that it is milk. As for formula, I was instructed that I could not bring nursey water in bottles but I had to buy a bottle of water once I got through security. I would suggest to buy the water ASAP once past security becasue it is cold and usually baby's won't take colf formula but room temperature they might. I hope this helps! Hi! First of all, calling the airline is a good idea...I've heard mothers are allowed a specific amount of liquids for their babies...I can't recall exactly how many ounces. I just flew with my little one, and nursed her the entire 3 hours just to keep her quiet...she was having problems with her ears. If you are unable to nurse, you can always take the dry formula on board, and then ask the flight attendent for water to mix with it. You can also purchase bottled water at the little vendor once you clear security. Like I said, first check with your airline, because it would certainly be easiest for you to just be able to take your pumped milk with you. Good luck! C.

We traveled by air with our then 3 month old and were allowed to bring bottles on board. I was told that you are allowed a "reasonable amount for the length of your travel" on the plane. There was never a question about how much we brought. But as a word of caution, we use the Dr. Browns bottles, and since they have the tube to release the air, the pressure in the plane caused them to leak all over. When we flew home we used the Avent bottles and had no leaking. Hope your trip goes well!

I traveled with my son when he was a few months old. We took along the similac pre-made bottles as well as some extra powder (pre-measured in appropriate amounts for super quick prep if necessary). The simialc bootle come in 8 oz portions which is usually too much for a 3 mo old, but works in a flash and takes a standard small opening screw top and nipple so you don't have to pour it into another bottle. TSA never even questioned us about any liquids, but the prevuis poster was right... get a bottle of water as soon as you ge through security... some newstands will have some room temp in the back if you ask for it. You can treat baby necessities like prescriptions. They don't even have to be less than four ounces! Just pack them all together and declare them as you go through security.

I was so excited when I found this out this summer! I packed everything in disposable stuff in case they made me throw it out anyway, but they just looked at it. I even got yogurt for my three-year-old (in a five ounce container) through.

There were no problems eating on the plane. In fact, eating kids are happy kids, so.....
