Cari,

I have always been allergic to cats (sniffling sneezing and red puffy itchy eyes especially if I touch them) but my husband had two when we got married so I inherited them. After a few months my allergies lessened and then went away but when I got pregnant they came back. I even broke out in small rashes (red patches and occasianally hives) wherever I had touched them which had never happened before I was pregnant. I just did what I had done originally which was not to avoid touching them and eventually the allergies went away again. It sounds a little different from what you are experiencing but I definately think being pregnant made my allergies worse. There is an anti-itch lotion called Sarna that you can get over the counter at any drug store. My doctor recommended it to me for a rash I had and I have heard lots of people rave about it. My rash went away before I got the lotion though so I can't say from personal experience if it works or not.

yes, yoy prolly are and steroid shots are given for hives, he may have to stay with someone. you can however try some benadryl. most doc offices have an answering svc with a nurse you can speak to at all hours.

hey cari,
you could be experiencing what i did in my first pregnancy and its called pupps. its a hormonal reaction to pregnancy usually developed in the third trimester. it sucks! you can put cortizone cream on it or take an aveno bath. luckily for you, you dont have much longer until delivery and it goes away then. my rash was like poison ivy and delveloped early in my third trimester. certain things seemed to set it off more than others, maybe there is a connection with your dog, maybe not. good luck and please post what your doc says. you can also research pupps online (maybe pups).

I had the same thing happen to me. Not as bad as you seem to have it. Once I had my babies, I did not have any more problems. Benedryl is safe during pregnancy. I took it for the bumps from my dog and to help me sleep better through the nights.

I would recommend benadryl and they are also have benadryl cream. Aveno bath might ne good as well. I personally would call the nurse's line.

Good Luck.
