Amniotic Fluid Leak? Still Concerned, Though Negative Test.

(I'm 33 weeks with my 5th, so I am very well aware of my body and pregnancy) Yesterday after church I sneezed rather violently. Upon doing so I thought 'dang! I peed my pants!'. So I went and check but found a clear fluid, that did not resemble urine in smell or color. I thought maybe I was just paranoid, thus I dismissed my concern. Then today I was riding bikes with my daughter to school and once we arrived my entire backside was wet! I hurried home and again found similar findings as yesterday. It did not resemble urine in color or smell.
Went to the hospital per Drs instruction. The amniotic test came back negative.
I'm baffled (although I desperately want to be wrong) as to what it could be!?! Any similar experiences out there? Explanations?

What can I do next?

You are peeing yourself. Unless you are dehydrated it shouldn't have a lot of color or odor.

What did your doctor/the hospital say?
If it's not amniotic fluid then it's probably pee.
Very diluted pee never seems like pee.
Sometimes child can kick you in the bladder and BAM - you've wet yourself and it wasn't your fault.
Just wear a pad or something absorbent and change it when you need to.

If your doctor said it's not amniotic fluid then it's not. Wear a panty liner or pad and go about your day so you don't have to keep changing clothes.
There is absolutely no way at all for anyone here to know what it is. We are not doctors and we are not standing next to you, able to give you any kind of exam.

If you're drinking plenty of water your urine will be quite clear and have only a faint odor.

Do you have a good sense of smell? I never did while pregnant. I always had a stuffy nose and difficulty smelling.

If it's not amniotic fluid, you peed your pants. Lovely, right? But also totally normal.

Since the test was negative, there are probably 3 things interacting here:
1) hormones relax your pelvic floor in order to make it easier for baby to move through later
2) you've had 4 previous babies, so your pelvic floor is likely weak to begin with
3) baby is growing and bouncing up and down on your bladder

All together, this means you can't hold your urine like normal. So, wear a pad to absorb the liquid so you don't have to keep changing clothes.

I leaked amnio fluid and it turned out fine - there wasn't much and I didn't need special care. These things happen but of course they are terribly alarming when they do until you're sure that it's not going to continue.

Your urine can also be clearer at certain times, and if it's heavy on the water and light on the other components, there can be little or no odor. Besides, sometimes your sense of smell is off during pregnancy. The growing uterus can press on that bladder and not leave you much room for expansion. and the muscles can grow weak during pregnancy (as you I'm sure have heard). So sneezing and bike-riding, while routine activities early in pregnancy, can put way more stress on you than you think, and the bladder is no match for the uterus at this point!

Talk to your doctor again - they may want to run a urine test anyway just to see what's going on there.

My vote is also for urine - I'm wondering why you are so sure it's not? As someone else said, if you're well hydrated it should be clear and shouldn't smell. That the dr. says it's not amniotic fluid is also a great reassurance. I'd go with urine, and start wearing a pad. Sounds pretty normal to me. Other than that I'm afraid we can't be of much help, but if you're sure it's not urine I'd be calling the doctor back.

I had an amniotic test come back negative when it was actually positive (though at 39 weeks). I knew I was leaking, went into the hospital, they did a quick swab down there and it was negative. My mommy instincts told me it was, and all day I was leaking a little. I went back in, and this time they performed the test differently. They used the speculum (the metal device used during a pap) and swabbed that way. This time it was positive. So, yes, if they don't swab correctly or in the right place, it can be wrong. If you are worried, go back in. That is what they are there for and instincts are often right).

I went through the same thing at the end of both of my pregnancies. It was amniotic fluid. It is very important to drink plenty of water and keep your feet elevated and your fluid should start to build up again. Very very important to rest rest rest. Good luck 😀

after having a baby i pee a little when i sneeze. and when i was at the end of my pregnancy with my second i would have to try to hold a sneeze or i would need a change of clothing.
i vote that its urine. and being your probably well hydrated its not going to have a smell or color.
if the drs say its not amniotic fluid then its either pee or the bike seat got you all hot and bothered and your nether regions responded with lubrication...
