J.,
We have visited all of the parks in Florida and for a two year old, I have found that The Magic Kingdom at Disney World is the best for that age group.
Hi there! My son is about to turn 2 years old and for his birthday we wanted to do something different. Which amusement parks have the best activities/rides for little kids? Of course we don't want fast rides, just something fun to see and something that keeps him entertained. Please let me know if you have any suggestions or if you have taken your little one to a park. Thanks so much!
J.,
We have visited all of the parks in Florida and for a two year old, I have found that The Magic Kingdom at Disney World is the best for that age group.
I have a three year old daughter and since she was 8 months old we have been taking her to Disney every Christmas. Let me tell you, she has a calendar and she marks off everyday so she knows when "Disney Time" is getting close. She also loved going to Sea World and seeing the Sting Rays, Dolphins, and Whales up close. Sea World is very hands on, just as Disney is.
Cypress Gardens in Winter Haven in wonderful for little kids. There is a whole kids section with about 10-15 rides and most of them you can go on with him....my littles one love it. In the summer time they have a water park area open with a wading pool and everything.
I love all the theme parks in Orlando. I carry annual passes to all of them. However, for one day trip, for a two year old, your best option is Sea World. You can get a Fun Pass the will let you return all year at the price you pay for one day! There is so much to see and do and the shows are incredible. A favorite is Magic Kingdom, too, for that age group, but check online because the prices are high. I can't even take my neices and nephews anymore.
Hello J., Magic Kingdom is the best park for the little ones. There are many rides they can enjoy and there are characters all through the park to meet. They also build Mickey's and Minnie's houses.
I always have a blast with my girl, who is turning two next month.
Hi J.,
I have a son who will be 3 1/2 in March. I have taken him to Universal and Islands of Adventure which was fun but very expensive. I've done some research and discovered that Cypress Gardens have tons of little kids rides and the right speed for them. The only thing is that some rides have a height limitation. I haven't taken my son there yet but I heard a lot of good things about it. If you want to check out the site here it is and good luck to you.....http://cypressgardens.com/welcome.asp
Jamie,
If your child like animals then Busch Gardens is nice. They also have a little play area where he can play in the water. It's a little Dragonland. Sea World is nice if he likes water animals and they two have a little play area to get wet. Universal Studios has a GREAT park. Everything in the park is designed for little children. GREAT shows, Meeting the cartoon characters, and every rides for the little guys. I recommened you do some research on-line beore you decide. God Bless and have lots of fun.
Hi J.. First, my daughter turns 2 in April on the 9th! I live in Wellington. If we're close it might be fun to meet up so the kids could play. Feel free to email me ____@____.com.
Anyway, I don't know exactly where you are located, but we've taken Leah to Lion Country Safari, and there is a Merry Go Round, a little train ride (very little, perfect for toddlers) a water play area (big and very cool), one of those elephant rides that goes up and down, a giraffe feeding area, and a petting zoo, plus there's the safari to go through. My daughter had a blast. The Palm Beach Zoo at Dreher Park is also really fun. They have a merry go round also, and a little water fountain play area the kids can cool off in. Plus there's a petting zoo and tons of cool animals to look at.
Where are you? there are so many parks and things to do here in sf .. Have you ever thought of jioning a yahoo group for moms? That usually has some fun things to do here and there. Quiete Water Park (Sample and Powerline I think) is local and fun for the babies to...
My daughter will turn 2 next month and we love going to all the parks in the area, Universal just has a section of things to do, not a ton. Seaworld is great there is the cat and dog show, the penguins, the sharks to look at and a kids play area. As for disney the magic kingdom is great in fantasy land with small world, winnie the pooh, peter pan, dumbo... If you choose to goto disney, when you pick up a park map they also have a booklet for all the things to do in the parks for kids 5 and under so you don't miss anything that is right for that age group. Have fun!!
My daughter just turned 2 and loves going to Universal Studios. They have a Barney show and play area, as well as a Curious George section and a great animal show.
Hi J.! How are you? My name's M. & I'm a SAHM of 3little girls (2,5,8). From my experiance taking my kids to Disney & Seaworld through the years.....I'd save my money & go to Chuckie Cheese....LOL!! At 2yr old they probably won't remember all the great things they see/do @ one of the high-price places. And the admission for a family to get in (to me) isn't really worth it w/ the handful of rides they can actually enjoy. :) Good luck!!
Blessings,
M.
Jamie, I suggest the Magic Kingdom at Disney. As a former cast member I can tell you there are days worth of activities for little ones. A lot of people think you need to be older to enjoy the parks but at the MK there are so many rides and character experiences (like story time with Belle and lunch with Pooh, Tigger, Eyeore and Piglet.) You'll have parades, stage shows, street performers, and fireworks at night. There's also a play area, too. The price may see high but little ones are free until they are 3 and you'll be sure to have great service and clean bathrooms! Plus, they have a great baby-care center where you can take a break, feed your little one if you pack food and just cool off if it's hot. One tip to save on the $10 parking--park at Downtown Disney and take the free Disney motorcoaches to the park. Also, bring your own stroller so you don't have to rent one.
OK I hate to sound like a completely paranoid freak here (but having an ex-preemie it comes with the territory!) but we(me and hubby) did alot of reading on amusement park rides before attending a local fair with our 3 year old a few months ago and were greatly distrubed by the lack of regulation/safety of most motorized rides. There is no regulation. And just because kids reach the "must be this tall to ride" point doesn't mean the ride is safe for them as amusement ride manufacturers design and build around an average- fall below or above that number (which in actuality are the numbers that compose an average) and your kids are at risk.
Many injuries happen because a person (usually a little kid) panics or gets scared and tries to exit the ride...Keep in mind that 2 year olds tend to be very active and their logical thought is just starting to develop...
Especially at 2 - take him on if you want but I wouldn't send him on anything where you can't ride right next to him...
I find that with my little guy just being out and about and seeing the sights which are so different from everyday life is about as much stimulation as he can handle...We tried one "self propelled" thing a few months ago and that was way too much for him...But the characters (which can be terrifying to little kids) and foods and balloons were right up his alley and he still talks about them...
Basically anything that he can get off of or step back from when he has had enough is safe for him at this point...
Ok I just reread this and totally feel like a paranoid freak!

We love going to Seaworld. I have a one and two year old. They are more interested in the animals and such. There is a kids play spot, but my two year old loved watching the shows!!!
Sea World is awesome for babies and toddlers in my opinion. Plus, Florida residents get the fun card which means you pay your admission for one day and you get to go back into the park free all YEAR. The only downside to the funcard is you need to pay about ten buck for parking each time you go to the park, but if you think it would be worth the investment you could look into getting an annual pass for yourself to get free parking that comes with that. I dont remeber if the park is free for kids 2 and under or kids just under 2, but it is really fun and my daughter (15mo) loves the park.
there is a place in orlando called chutes and lazers, it is an indoor playground with a cafe and everything. i think they have b-day packages.
We love Busch Gardens's kiddie park. Its closed in and tons of stuff. Plus I think if you buy a ticket for a day its good for all year. Check it out.
HI,I REALLY LIKE CYPRESS GARDENS,THEY HAVE A LOT OF RIDES FOR SMALL KIDS,THEY EVEN HAVE A WATER PARK ,RIGHT THERE,AND MY GIRL HAD SO MUCH FUN,SHE IS 3
okay, there are the usuals-Disney and Sea world. But it depends on your budget. My daughetr seemed to like the Animal Kingdom at Disney and of course Magic Kingdom. If you are on a budget, check out a local zoo!I'm not sure what area you are in, but I heard Brevard Zoo is best.
Definitely Disney (the magic kingdom).
Well when my daughter was 2, I took her to Disney itself, and it was fun. Disney or animal kingdom maybe good too. Disney has created a whole new play area, so check it out. Islands of Adventure also, there are many grown-up rides, but they have a huge little tykes/tykettes section.
Hope this helps.

Lego Land in San Diego, CA is great for toddlers!!! We took our twins right before they turned 3 last year and it was a blast!!! Since they were not 3 yet they got in for free and we found adult tickets online for about 45 dolloars. Hope this helps.
