We are divided house. My hubby got an andriod and I took his old iPhone. He can watch movie trailers etc on his.... call the store that sells the phone you are looking at and ask them.
Another question already! I need to get my son a new phone and can't decide between an android phone and an Iphone. I have been looking at both and I just don't know. He would like to be able to watch netflix on it, but I can't figure out if he can do that on the android phone. (It would be a Samsung Captivate.) It seems like reviews on both are right down the middle. Anybody have either one and want to share an opinion? I want to make a smart choice!
We ended up going with the iphone with an otter box. Thank you for all of your opinions. They were so similar and what finally becamse the deciding factor was the netflix thing, They only have an app that works for 5 or 6 android phones, and the one we were looking at wasn't one of them. Also, his sister has an iphone so we are hoping she can show him how to use it. We had no idea with the android phone.
Thanks!

I hate my droid. Can't wait until I have an upgrade because I'll get the iphone. My daughter and many friends have them, so I've checked them out. Much more user friendly and it can do more things much more quickly.
I had an Iphone then got a 4g Inspire Android phone. I love it. I really like interface better. There are a lot more apps available for Android phones too. Neither are bad phones, but I really like the larger face, the OS and extra options.
I love my iphone and was very hesitant to get into the smart phone world. As long as you have a wi-fi connection, watching Netflix on it is no problem. You don't want to try doing it through 3g, though.
I have a Motorola Droid X and love it! I have not had any problems with it at all. There are thousands of apps for free as opposed to the iPhone. You have to pay for most of theirs. I have my music on it, great GPS tool, Facebook, etc.I have also ordered and paid for a Domino's Pizza with mine! I highly recommend Android phones!
p.s. I also second the person that said to buy a cover and a screen protector. Lots of phone companies will not replace your damaged smart phone if it does not have both if them.
My hubby LOVED his Iphone until I got the captivate....a week later he went and got his own. We just like the better...however my MIL prefers the Iphone.
Netflix doesn't have an Android app.... yet. They've promised one.
I have a Samsung Epic 4G Android and love it!
My husband has an older (1 year old) android and I can't stand it. It is very tempermental- it seems like it will call someone if I look at it! He seems to like it well enough though. I have an iPhone 4 and I LOVE it! I use my computer about 75% less now that I have it...its like a mini computer in your pocket. I have the Kindle app and have used it a TON too! I've even ordered and paid for pizza from my iPhone ;) I think my husband is going to switch over to the iPhone when he's eligible for an upgrade.
I have an iPhone and my husband has the Captivate. He said he doesn't think he can watch Netflix on his phone, but I know that I can. If that is what he wants to do, then maybe you should go with the iPhone. Hope that helps!
I went through 2 different Android phones and I hated both of them. To be fair, I think it was the actual phone and not the Android platform. I have an iPhone 3gs now and I love love love love love it. I got mine through AT&T, they have the deal right now if you are able to upgrade, you can get the 3GS for $49.99. It's not the newest iPhone, but it's still pretty fantastic. I don't know what the price for the iPhone 4 is.
Whatever phone you get, get a really good cover for it. Smart phones don't like to be dropped, get water on them (even a little drip), or have their screens pushed on too hard. I did some research and I decided on an Otter Box cover. They are big, but WELL worth it. I've dropped my iPhone countless times and there hasn't been any damage.
Good luck with your decision!! It's not easy to pick a phone.
