The San Juan Islands off the coast of Washington are serene, romantic and beautiful. We LOVED staying at The Place at Cayou Cove on Orcas Island. (The Cove Cottage was pure bliss.) Getting there takes a bit but get a car and ferry around the Islands and Victoria B.C.

If you've never been to Sedona AZ it's a real treat. (Full disclosure, I was born and raised there :) Lots of nice hotel options but two of the most special are Enchantment Resort and L'Auberge. (Message me if you go and I can give you lots more info :)

Scottsdale AZ - The Arizona Biltmore.

Kauai - Waimea Plantation Cottages. A bit remote on the West side of the Island but a beautiful & relaxing property.

Closer to home - The Bodega Bay Lodge, Bodega Bay CA

Another one of our favorite ways to travel is to rent a house via vrbo.com (or similar). Less in the way of full accomodations but much more private and comfy in many ways.

Come to Colorado and stay at the Broadmoor. You won't be sorry. (Broke, maybe, but not sorry.)

We went on a 10th anniversary cruise on The Windjammer Cruise line. We sailed (sailing ship, 249' by 60', sail power except for a small diesel engine to get us in and out of port) out of St Maartin for 7 days and went to seven small islands. Most of the islands, like Saba, were so small the regular cruise ships couldn't dock there. We had a wonderful time.

Then I won 6 performance based trips with my company by placing in the top1-6 of my job in my company (General Motors). Two cruises to the Bahamas, One cruise out of Barbados to the Orinoco River to see Angel Falls, A trip to Las Vegas and to Montreal, Canada. They were all work related and all of them occurred arround our anniversary.

For our 25th we spent 16 nights in Hawaii and stayed on 6 of the islands. We went to the Polyneasian Cultural Center and went to a Luau, the best in Hawaii.
For our 26th, 27th, and 28th we went on 7-day cruises to Alaska, Belize, Honduras, Cancun, Dominica, St Kitts, Aruba, Antigua, St Barts, St Lucia, and Curaco
29th A real nice Resort in Nevis. I don't remember the name, but the food was fantastic.
For our 30th we went with our kid's High School Band and spent 16 days chaperoning the band kids in Austrailia.
For our 31st, Lake Tahoe at the Marriott. (Just an average hotel inspite of the name. We went to the Shakespeare Festival and some historical homes. Had an evening cruise on Lake Tahoe)
32nd-Spent 7 days at My MIL's home because she needed us. Had a wonderful time with my wife's family and MIL. Played cards and games for the entire week.
33rd-Solvang, CA, a Norwegian like city. Had wonderful danish made like they make it in Europe. We each took a flight in a glider.
34th- Cruise on Carnival. Bahamas, Grand Turk, San Juan, St Tomas
35th-Cruise on Royal Caribbean, Key West, Cancun, Belize
36th 7Day cruise out of San Juan to the southern Caribbean (Carnival)
37th Secrets Silver Sands resort south of Cancun on the Reveria Maya. Wonderful all inclusive adults only resort with 6 wonderful restaurants.
38th Firefly Resort in Jamaica- 8 days (Primitive, but nice. We played on the beach and in the water all day long. The local fishermen brought what ever they caught. We bought and cooked it for lunch and dinner.)

Don't know where we will go for our 39th this year. Probably Yellowstone. My wife says she's not been there yet.

Good luck to you and yours.

Our 10th anniversary is in April. We're going to Vegas. It'll be the first trip we've taken for our anniversary.

We're flying first class to Vegas. A limo will pick us up at the airport and take us to the Bellagio. We will have an express check in to our suite. We have tickets to Cirque du Soleil. We will be having dinner at several fine restaurants. I also bought hubby a package at the racetrack. He'll be able to drive several different cars on the racetrack. It's an all day event.

This will sound odd to many, but for our last "significant" anniversary we went to Disney World, just the two of us. It was magical.

We were given buttons to wear announcing our anniversary, and got a few sweet gifts or perks due to them. Also, with each table meal reservation I made I mentioned the anniversary, and with each one we were spoiled with special desserts, decorated tables, etc. We even had a phone call from Mickey and Minnie to our room.

I'll be happy to share more privately. I'll have the memories forever.

On our first anniversary we went to Monterey and stayed at the Seven Gables Inn. It was fantastic! We've stayed at The Little River Inn, Glevdeven Inn, and The Old Monterey Inn. We love staying at B&B's and since we have kids we have to keep it short, usually just two nights. Oh, been to Hurst Castle too and stayed in Cambria. And there's St. Orres in Gualala. The best places don't have phones or tv's.

our trip was to Cancun, Mexico and it was a nice hotel. We didn't spend a lot of time in the room - we were out on the beach and at the pool.

We went to St. Lucia for our honeymoon - again - didn't spend time in the room except to sleep...paid the bartender to tour us around the island...again at the beach and pool...

Rooms for us are just a place to sleep and shower. We want it clean and safe...but not looking for huge "luxuries"...sorry I can't be of more help.

My husband and I drove to Yellowstone from Northern California. We only stopped to eat in Nevada and then slept a night in Utah, so I don't have any high lights along the way. We stayed at Mammoth Hot Springs in an adorable cabin (which was very cold) then we moved into the Mammoth Hot Springs Hotel. This was my husband’s favorite spot in the whole park and the restaurant was phenomenal. Our last two nights were in the Lake Yellowstone Hotel, which was elegant and brought to mind old time images of how it could have been way back when. We had some lovely evenings listening to the piano player and relaxing in the expansive sitting area. Wonderful vacation with drives and walking along the park and romantic evenings spent together, reminiscing on our adventures.
