Another Lump

Yes, I now have another lump except it is in my left breast this time. I am now cutting my estrogen down from 2 mg to 1 from the advice of the surgeon. He says that cancer doesn't hurt and I don't hurt that much. I already had a lumpectomy on my right brest in the summer. This one is bigger. I guess I just need support right now. I'm getting a mammogram and ultrasound to verify. Here we go again.

Hi F.,
I'm so sorry that you are going through this. I had a lumpectomy a year ago also. When I went back for my 1 year follow-up (I also had a 6 mo. follow-up) they felt a lump in the opposite breast as well. It turned out to be cysts. Try to stay positive and calm until you know for sure. Remember that 80% of lumps are not cancer. My cancer did hurt but so do the cysts that I have. With my cancer I was getting a shooting pain and with the cysts I feel pain with applied pressure. I wish you all the luck in the world. Remember to stay positive. Attitude and faith play a huge part in the fight! God bless you!

I'm so sorry you are going through this. I have been through breast cancer this past year. I had a double mastectomy in January, chemotherapy for 6 months starting in February and will have my reconstructive surgery December 1st. I'm not sure how old you are, but have you been tested for the gene mutation? I was positive for the BRCA 2 gene mutation, although I have ZERO family history of the disease. I was completely shocked and caught off guard. If you need any support, have questions, or just want to talk, please PM me and I will send you my contact information. I would be happy to share my experience with you and answer any questions you might have (based solely on my experience, of course...I'm not a medical professional by any means). Again, I'm so sorry that you're going through this (again). I know how scary it is. I'll be praying for you!

I don't know how it went the last time?

But I had a lump in my right breast this summer (24 years old) and it scared me. I went through the whole thing and it turned out to be a cyst. Well, cystS since apparently there were 3 cysts next to each other, and I felt it as there being one.

They didn't disappear so I went back 3 months later and got them removed.

I will be keeping my fingers crossed for you and I hope everything goes well!

And oh my was hard, not so mobile, and not painful at all.

Cancer absolutely CAN hurt....especially if it is far gone. I only know this because I thought the same thing, that cancer doesn't hurt, and I am wrong! My girlfriend, 40, just was diagnosed with breast cancer, stage 4. Her breast was hard and hurt, a lot. By the time she finally went to the dr. they were stunned that she didn't come in earlier. Now she is in for the fight of her life.
That doctor is wrong.
