My sons pediatrician is a very nice and seems very experienced doctor. My son has been out of daycare in the past two weeks, because he had fever, and dierhia.
At first there were no indications what so ever if this is caused by a virus or bacterium. No matter what every time we go there the answer is: Anti-Biotics. I am so tired of this solution. My son got 3 different types of Anti-Biotics in the past 3 weeks! I dont think its right.
So I am thinking about changing doctors. Anyone out there has a good one who at least runs tests to find out why to prescribe the AB? Or considers homeopathic remedies before even prescribing it? Please help, my little boy does not need to be on AB all the time he catches a little virus.....esp. if it is not a bacterial infection!

Samples of your son's stool should have given them a clue as to what is infecting your son. Sometimes if it is a virus, which cannot be treated with antibiotics, they will still put you on them to ward off any bacterial infections that viruses can sometimes lead to. If they are just prescribing ab's when they have no idea what is wrong with him, then I would get a second opinion. I like Dr. Jeff Berkowitz. He is in Plano right by Plano Presby Hospital(parker and midway). He has been wonderful with my children and is very thorough when it comes to their health and progress. Good Luck with your search!
Well, I am the SAME way I hate the "anti biotic" cure all that Dr's give. I am a big preventative parent! In fact this week, I am taking all of my children to a naturopath physician. You can look them up online. But make sure they are a physician!! That is really important.
