I was on Lexapro and Welbutrin because they both did seperate things for me. THe combination was good for me and my sex drive, while not supercharged, was still decent. And those times when it wasn't, I went with it anyway. I just put on a happ face and did my duty.

I was on the same thing and yep it killed the drive but eventually while still on it I had an upswing in that department. But I do know exactly what you mean. How long were you on it and seriously if you are suffering from Anxiety it won't get better on it's own. Wellbutrin works very well but when you try to wean yourself off of it...The side effects are hurrendous!!!

I had post partum depression and I remember feeling this.. Honestly what I did was even if it was the farthest thing from my mind I did it. I knew I loved sex, knew it would feel good and in turn make me happy so even though it didn't come as naturally I made sure to just DO it. I imagined my husband living with this shell of a person I used to be and the least I could do was keep our sex lives active.. it was probably less exciting for him but it made him feel good too. Don't be selfish and even if you don't want to do it, do it anyway, it's sex not the dishes! Good luck! I've heard they have testosterone pills or creams but I dont know a lot of info about them.. ask your OB.

My husband has been on several different depression meds over the last year & a half, each with it's own crappy side affect. IMO, you just have to decide what you're willing to live with. For us, no sex doesn't work either so he's had to try several different ones to find a good balance. We're still working on dosages, etc., but I'll be happy to let you know once we've found a nice middle-ground spot!

My husband and I have both struggled with anxiety and depression this past year. I used Lexapro and loved it. I think my sex drive actually picked up. There is a sister drug to lexapro that is not a strong. I can't remember what the name is, but my dr. used it as a step down method to get me off of meds. completely. I used the combination of the two for about 5 months. As for my husband, because of his work circumstances, he used the L-Theanine as another poster suggested. I saw dramatic differences with him. He also used this in combination with 5-HTP. WONDERFUL DIFFERENCES!!!! We purchased both of thes natural products at Whole Foods. The 5-HTP is also at Walgreens.

Wellbutrin likely will help your sex drive and depression. It can interfere with sleep and sometimes the "XL", extended release form helps that side effect. It won't treat anxiety though, it is an antidepressant. If you feel anxious, like panicky, like feeling impending doom all the time, then you probably would need something else along with Wellbutrin. Talk to your doctor as specifically as you can about the emotions you are feeling.

Wellbutrin is one of the old tried and true meds. Used in combination with other anti-depressants it can really be good. Effexor or Pristiq used with Wellbutrin is a combination that works for alot of people.
