The ONLY way to get fabric paint out is to wash it IMMEDIATELY after the paint hits the fabric. The more time that elaspes, the less paint will come out. Dry paint will never come out. Maybe it's in a spot you can cover with a broach.
hey gals -
like the genius i am ;) i got fabric paint on my dress doing a project -
any ideas on how to get it out? nail polish remover? turpentine? lol
throw the dress away because it is hopeless?
thanks in advance for any help!

Hi S.-
Have you tried De-Solve it? It's a citrus scented stuff, and it got latex house paint off of my jeans, tar off of my shoes, blood and grass stains off of my shirt, gum out of my hair, etc. I LOVE IT!
I think you can get it at the grocery store, wal-mart, etc.

hey there S.,
um...
scissors and voila a sexy, strategically placed peek-a-boo, depending on it's locale of course. there are plenty of places this paint could have found itself, i can only imagine, so it is true i suppose that 'strategic' may well never explain away all the possible windings up of fabric paint and it's purpose in this case of picking where you'll add a hole, you know just to much peek and an obvious boo boo...
perhaps then an interesting applique would suit you? place over your unwelcome addition, cover up the paint and then maybe one or two other places... might make for a new look all together? if and only if this dress of yours can wear appliques well...you can wear them well...comfortably, and of course if you would ever even choose to were it not for the craft fairy's evil twin attacking you with paint.
best of luck
and worst case scenario... you now have a lovely craft dress!
aline :)
What I do when I or my daughter get a stain on a favorite item of clothing is to go out and find a really nice iron-on 'patch' and put it over the stain. I do the iron-on bit, but I also stitch around the edges to make sure that parts don't peel off.
Good Luck,
K.
Take it to a good dry cleaner ASAP and see if there is anything they can do. But... it's fabric paint. Meant to stick to fabric and never wash out. Would your dress make a nice cleaning rag? =)
