I hope you get lots of responses because I could use some ideas too!

There are the standard zoo, park, feeding ducks & the carousels.

I've found that my almost-3 year old loves to do chores like unloading the dishwasher, sorting laundry, vaccuming, dusting, etc. When we go to the grocery store he's in charge of remembering the things we need (he gets a much smaller list of things to remember) as well as spotting things on the shelves for me.

We also to a lot of baking together. He loves to make sugar cookies because not only does he get to mix the dough, but roll it, cut it out and decorate.

Regardless of the weather, we play baseball in the backyard as well as "barnyard" golf were we just have lots of balls and have fun hitting them with no particular goal in mind. Whenever I have outside work to do, he helps as well - like by raking or pushing the yardcart.

Have you tried various art projects like making hand puppets (lunch bags work well to start with) or necklaces? Something that works wherever you're at is "I Spy" with him getting hotter or colder depending on the direction he's moving.

It's hard this time of the year, but in the summer we're always at the concerts in the park and taking in little league baseball games.

Do you have friends with kids the same age you can get together with for Playdates?

We sometimes just go and hang out at the McDonalds with the indoor playgrounds.

When the weather gets nicer, Playgrounds! Tougas Farm. Davis Farmland.

Hi S.,

When my two were younger I loved to bring them to the Childrens Museum in Providence RI. They have a lot of intersting things for little ones. I believe its free the first Sunday of every month. Check it out.

Hi S.,
I have a son that will be three in March!! I have to get him out everyday or he drives me bonkers...lol you know what I mean!! I take him to Gymboree in Quincy. They have free play every day of the week!! except for the weekend of course!! There is also Tot Gym, MyGym, and a couple of other gyms out there!!! Or if you are looking for a day out with the kids I suggest Cubby's Clubhouse in Hanover!! It is alot of fun It has video games in one room and in the main dining room they have a climbing contraption that looks like a tree house!!! If you want to talk to me email me and let me know if this works for you!!!
Thanks
Becca

I too am a stay at home mom and I do not drive so I have am limited to what I can do at home with my son who is 4. Coloring is a fun way to be creative....and depending on the boys but playing chutes and ladders or candyland is fun. Sometimes when I dont know what else to do I have a movie day or night where he can pick a movie and I make popcorn and let him eat in the living room and watch the movie. Most of the time I watch the movie or ill do some chores. Also depending on where you live Chucky cheeses is prolly the best place you can go for those ages because they really can be a kid and you dont have to worry about running after them or really keeping an eye on them as they are basically locked in. Its really not that expensive either. I spent 40 dollars for 2 pizzas 4 drinks and 100 tokens (btw every game in there was only 1 token) that gives you prolly 5 hours of fun. Good luck though

I might sound liek a broken record since i just said this to another mama:
Look up North Shore Moms at meetup.com. There are as many playdates and events as the members create, and there are new people joining all the time (like me, i just joined)
The women are very nice and my daughter and I have been having fun!

(oh yeah, there's no membership fee, lots of events are free, unless they are at a play area with a fee or with special events where a mom has hired a magician/clown/whatever. Lots of no cost play events though)

Hi! Well I work at a Day Care and we do alot of diferent things with kids all the time. Alot of kids love painting, playing with play dough, arts and cratfs stuff, playing in a sand or water table, coloring in coloring books, making puzzles, and playing with all different kinds of blocks. I hope that I help you alittle. If you need anything else Please right back. If you want to know about different projects you can do with them let me know.
